I just love books/libraries/second-hand bookshops/collections of books in general. I've got my own small collection of books and sometimes I'll just leaf through my way through some of them, recalling how wonderful the very notion of the printed word is; how intensly exciting the prospect of being surrounded by the words of the greatest thinkers of all time actually is, all closed betwee the covers of many a stately tome. In many ways, a good library represents the sum of human knowledge, and has the ability to thrill the thoughtful man to his quick in a way which the internet will never be able to do.

Same here and a lot of pensioners I think reading newspapers all day (boring...!).
haha, that is SO true! And at least you get to renew your books lots of times, I'm not allowed to do it more than twice or something so sometimes I just return them and take them out again (with the computer touch-screens!) :ninja:

I know it annoys me sometimes cos they use all the tables and you wanna study or something lol! We can renew them 4 times. Each time we take them out we can keep them for 4 weeks and 20 books each time. Haha! Touch-screens? Our city isn't that advanced... we recently got automatic doors haha. At least I can book books online. Just out of interest what book are you reading currently?

Libraries freak me out. I have to spend quite a bit of time in a number of different libraries but I just get weirded out :ninja:

I do like libraries but I much prefer Waterstones. There's less riff-raff in Waterstones for some reason, plus I can sit in their cafe and read their books = win :yep:

WOW 20 books??!?! I would go CRAZY! And yeah, the touch screens are a fairly new revelation.

Erm, well not much reading done during exams (getting withdrawal symptoms!) but before, I had started Anna Karenina but I've still yet to finish it. It's so long - I'm on part 3 of 8! How about you?

I love mines...libraries aren't really known to the under-60's, so whenever I go, it's next to empty...I spend hours there at the weekend , but I also go to the neighbouring libraries, just to check what I want to read...they're so cool imo.
