I think we need to raise the issue of ignorance in the Muslim society more than ever right now. A lot of our brothers and sisters insist on laziness and lack of knowledge which unfortunately comes with not wanting to advance themselves.
It's really important that not only Muslims and especially our youth educate themselves about the true essence of Islam but about history/philosophy too in order to strengthen, challenge and enhance their beliefs.

A lot of Muslims I have met just repeat after those who 'teach' them about Islam and don't use their own initiative. Not only Islam but international matters and technology, sciences especially. To attend university and specialise in one sector doesn't fulfill the 'educated' box, a diverse knowledge of various topics is more the fulfilment.
This way we will have a more lively Muslim population and a more accepting, less sheepish community.
Education is crucial as with any pillar of Islam.

A Fatwah from Ayatullah Khamanei(rh) on The mother of the believers, Umulmimineen Aisha (may Allah azwj preserve her from slander):

In a meeting with agents of Sadaf Kowsar Conference, held this year as a tribute to Hazrat Khadija, Ayatollah Khamenei said: “Disrespecting the pure wives of the Prophet (pbuh) should be avoided. The Prophet’s (pbuh) wives are all respectable; anyone who insults any of them has insulted the Prophet. I resolutely declare this offensive. The commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (pbuh) treated her eminence Aisha in such a respectful manner. He treated a woman, who had come to fight against him, with the utmost respect because she was the Prophet’s wife; otherwise the Commander of the Faithful (as) would not stand on a ceremony with anyone: hence, no such disrespect should ever occur.”
    http://english.khamenei.ir/news/3905...f-the-Faithful

Indeed, so much respect did Imam Ali a.s have for the sanctity and chastity of Umulmimineen that he ensured the only living Mahram to her (Muhammed ibn Abu Bakr r.a) her brother, was the one who escorted her from Jamal in safety.

Anyone who accuses the mother of the believers and brings into question her chastity has abused the Prophet s.a.w. And anyone who has abused the Prophet s.a.w has abused Allah azwj.

SubhanAllah, these words are haq, and nothing but haq. Anyone who seeks other than the sunnah has gone stray.

We have the same ahadith in our books (but a little longer) The arabic is the same in these sentences but i have used a different translation:

Kitab Al Kafi - Volume 2:

"Rasullah (s.a.w) has said: "For every form of worship, there is a strong desire and willingness, then it reduces. Whoever's worship falls within my tradition and practice, he has found the right guidance, and whoever is against my tradition is lost and his deeds are a total loss. I , however, pray, sleep, fast, eat, laugh and weep. Whoever dislikes my tradition and practise is not of my people'.He (also) has said: "Death is a sufficient preacher, certainty is enough wealth, and worship is a complete occupation"

Idk what the protest was for but it's so sad to see many people killed and injured

    Posted from TSR Mobile
I know it is very sad

Well basically, they demand changes to the route of a planned multi-million dollar power transmission line. The demonstrators want the 500 kV transmission line from Turkmenistan to Kabul be rerouted through two provinces with large Hazara populations. They want it to go through their area. However, the government says this option would cost millions and delay the needed project by years. Also, they have said that the project already guarantees ample power to the provinces of Bamyan and Wardak, west of Kabul, where many Hazaras live, and denies accusations that it disadvantages Hazara people, a mainly Shia minority.

Now I feel the protest was actually not necessary and was due to the hazaras fear. Even some politics are involved in igniting this, as certain individuals/politicians with evil intentions want divisions to occur and to take advantage of the controversy. To conclude, certain politicians aim for a civil war.

I don't want to get into politics here.
    Allahu Alam.

I guess it seems meaningless when they say this because you know. You know that it isn't anyone's fault. Deep down, you know that all things have a set measure of time, that everything except the Creator is finite and will come to an end. Whether it is an ant crawling on the ground, a bird building a nest in the tree, an elephant roaming the land with its might, a mole hidden underground, the fish below the surface of the sea - all shall live according to His decree and eventually come to an end. Whether it is the withering away of the leaves of a tree, or the growth of new shoots which sprout from its branches, this is all a reminder that this dunya is not permanent, that we come here, stay and then move on.

Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things.

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving -

[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any rifts?

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason.

    [Surah al-Baqarah ayah 164]
SubhaanAllah. Remember sister, it is only after we have fallen to our knees that we rise back up and ground ourselves firmly on our feet, prepared to keep going. As for fluctuation in the strength of our faith, know that faith is centred in the heart, and the heart is called 'qalb' as its state is constantly in change. Know that if you keep your heart engulfed in the ocean of His remembrance at times of ease, so too will His remembrance run through every corner of it at times of difficulty. This is something that we must all work on constantly, for it is not just our laziness and procrastination that we have to battle with to seek nearness to Allah, but it is also the waswasah of the unrelenting opposer of mankind.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would often supplicate:

"‏ "‏يا مقلب القلوب ثبت قلبي على دينك‏

Shahr bin Haushab reported:I asked Umm Salamah (May Allah be pleased with her), "O Mother of the Believers! Which supplication did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) make frequently when he was in your house?" She said: "He (ﷺ) supplicated frequently: 'Ya muqallibal-qulubi, thabbit qalbi 'ala dinika (O Controller of the hearts make my heart steadfast in Your religion)."

    [Riyaad as-Saaliheen]
Let each act of 'ibadah begin by you assessing its sincerity for He whose pleasure and rahmah you seek. Once the intention is affirmed, review yourself in comparison to His Majesty, His Magnamity, His Omnipotence - and this will alow khushoo' (humbleness) to settle in the heart. Then seek to perform the act of 'ibadah. This is advice to myself, first and foremost, but advice that I hope can inspire us all, if Allah wills it.

Ameen Ameen:top:Ameen. SubhaanAllah. Indeed, let the tears flow - for it is the tears brought forth from a sincere heart which nourish the soil of the soul and allow the growth of one's relationship with the Rabb.
    SubhanAllah great post. JazakAllah Khair.

    SubhanAllah, absolutely.

We muslims need to be the ones who can engage in philosophical arguments [the way we see br. Hamzah tzortis has done]. We need to be politically astute, socially aware. We need to be well rounded people, seeking knowledge in all areas. Ofcourse, this does not mean we become our own ulema - but rather as you said, take more of an initiative.

Ayatullah Mutahari (rh), a genius and arguably one of the great thinkers of the modern age in Islam, had written a great article about knowledge: https://www.al-islam.org/message-tha...adha-mutahhari

In honour and memory of the pious companions

Khuzaymah b. Thabit (Radiyallahu anhu) was one of the great companions(Ashaab) of Muhammed s.a.w

According to some reports, Muhammed s.a.w said he was a man of two testimonies. [Tarikh At Tabari, Volume 38 - Book on the Sahaba and their successors)

In Nahjul Balagha, Ali ibn Abi Talib a.s is reported to refer to him as "Dhu'sh-shahadatayn:

"Where are my brethren who took the (right) path and trod in rightness. Where is `Ammar? 4 Where is Ibn at-Tayyihan? 5 Where is Dhu'sh-Shahadatayn?6 And where are others like them7 from among their comrades who had pledged themselves to death and whose (severed) heads were taken to the wicked enemy."

He is known as Dhu'sh-Shahadatayn because the Holy Prophet considered his evidence equivalent to the evidence of two witnesses He was present in the battle of Badr, and other battles as well as in the places of assembly of the Muslims during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet. He is counted among the earliest of those who showed their adherence to Amir al-mu'minin and he was also present in the battle of Jamal and Siffin. `

Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abi Layla narrated that he saw a man in the battle of Siffin fighting the enemy valiantly and when he protested against his action, the man said: I am Khuzaymah ibn Thabit al-Ansari, I have heard the Holy Prophet saying "Fight, fight, by the side of `Ali." (al-Khatib al-Baghdadi, Muwaddih awham al-jam` wa't-tafriq, vol. 1, p. 277).

Information about Khuzaymah (radiyallahu anhu) [ From Tarikh At Tabari]

"Khuzaymah's kunyah was Abu 'Umarah. He had two brothers, Wahwah and 'Abdallah. Khuzaymah carried the banner of [his clan, the] Khatmah, on the day of the conquest of Mecca. He participated in the battle of Siffin on 'All's side and was killed there, in the year 37. "

    Sahl b. Hunayf (radiyallahu anhu)

Sahl's ancestor was 'Amr b. al-Harith, the one called Bahzaj (calf of a wild cow). Sahl participated in [the battles of ] Badr and Uhud. At Uhud he stood firmly by the Prophet while others retreated from him, and he pledged himself before the Prophet to fight to the death.

That day he shot arrows defending the Prophet, whereupon the latter said "Give arrows to Sahl, for he is easy [in spending them]."Sahl also participated in the [event of the] Ditch and all the battles on the Prophet's side. He fought at Siffin on the side of 'Ali b. Abi Talib.

    According to Ibn 'Umar [al-Wagidi]-'Abd al-Rahman b. `Abd al-'Aziz-Muhammad b. Abi Umamah b. Sahl-his father: Sahl b. Hunayf died in al-Kufah in the year 38 (June 9, 658-May 28, 659); `Ali b. Abi Talib said the ritual prayer over his bier.

    [Taken from Tarikh At Tabari]

    My personal reflections:

Sahl ibn Hunayf (radiyallahu anhu) shows the mark of one of the most steadfast companions of Muhammed s.a.w .He was among the companions during the loss at Uhud who stood firmly and defended Muhammed s.a.w That itself is a trait worthy of merit. He chose the path of truth, from the first battle to the last, never deserting Muhammed s.a.w nor Ali ibn Abi Talib a.s. Time, circumstances, external factors never wavered him from the path of Allah azwj. It is due to companions like him that Muhammed s.a.w and Islam was able to build strong foundations. The sacrifice of the pious sahaba is something that will eternally never be forgotten.
