So did I, until I started saying it.

I'm so sorry for being so annoying but I'm stuck again...

This is the question and this is what I did but I got the wrong answer...

Also how do you sketch the curve? I basically just guessed...

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

You haven't differentiated to find the stationary points or where the graph is increasing or decreasing.

Thank you! I differentiated it to find the stationary points however, I only got root 2?? But when I inputted 1 and 2, I got the gradient as being 0? I'm quite confused on that part.

However, I got the actual volume right when I inputted x=2 into the bit that I integrated

I'm waiting on St Andrews and Edinburgh. Already heard from Glasgow but I haven't been there yet so idk what the uni is like.
Glasgow is beautiful! The city is brilliant too. Was one of my faves. Had such a more friendly feel about it than Edinburgh imo (this was maths /physics department tho)

Be glad you're not doing them in M3

I personally found projectiles hard last year, probably because we rushed to learn them before the exam They're the reason I need to resit the exam this year

what exam board are you? Our M3 is simple harmonic and circular motion type stuff...

projectiles *shudder* I just made suvat lists and hoped that would get me through it

OCR, we have SHM and circular motion, and they have decided to mash circular motion and free projectile motion into the same questions, it's horrible

We also do rigid bodies and hinges and elastic string problems, which are probably the easier questions

Our M1 is projectiles, resolving forces on a plane, general suvat
M2 is moments, centre of mass, energy work and power
m3(which I'm not doing) is circular motion SHM etc...

The discrepancy between exam boards in content is ridiculous. We barely touch differential equations in maths and further maths and some exam boards get to do second order ones! So strange.

What exam board are you on? We only do first/second order differential equations in fp2 on edexcel
