For a lot of folks north of the border, the mere sight of Labour sharing a stage with the Tories is sickening and drove them to the SNP in the first place. Thing is, if Labour run their own separate campaign, it'll get nowhere near the coverage of Cameron's one. I can't see any way for Labour to win in this situation.

I think even the eurosceptic Tories realise that Farage has by far and away the best chance of running such a campaign, and even if he isn't selected as the leader, he'll still dominate the headlines. If I were a eurosceptic I'd do all I could to get Carswell leading the thing, but since he doesn't exactly see eye to eye with Nige on a number of issues it's not exactly likely.

Who would you suggest lead the out campaign? Someone like Peter Bone?

I think the hardcore socialist vote is pretty slim. Even the Greens support staying in the EU!
Just a general rule of thumb when it comes to the current Labour Party - if it can be messed up, it will.

If No has Farage leading it then the EU can sit back and relax - there is no way that Yes are losing, as that would be a core vote strategy for No (UKIP vote + a few Tories). They need someone more central as the UKIP vote is already solid No who could reach out and get people from across the spectrum to vote No.

Personally i said at the time that it was wrong for the Tories to back Labour in the referendum. Not for the same reasons but because a separate campaign could have easily played to both left and right (plenty of 'Tartan Tories' in the SNP to be coaxed back). Equally, one of the reasons the SNP lost was they completely ignored the right (may not be massive but could have swung it).

A lot of the talk recently about the Ukip leadership is that actually he's great at appealing to Euro-skeptic Tories, but limited beyond that. I still don't see how somebody not in the governing party could have the authority to speak for an Out campaign (Cameron could simply say.. 'you don't have the power to do that'). Peter Bone is even more ultra-Tory than Farage. I'd say they need somebody seen as less partisan (not in the cabinet) and less right wing to appeal to more of the center left undecided's so while it still has to be a Tory for the reasons i mentioned above, perhaps somebody like Zack Goldsmith (Carswell had he not defected).. basically somebody who's a bit younger and not seen as a stuffy shire Tory.

I'm not keen on Fleetwood Mac, from what I've heard of them their music is quite meh apart from one bit of one song

That album is amazing though, it's the only one I like. I think the fact they spent half their time fighting whip writing it 2 helped.

I only like "The Chain" and that's generally because of the bass bit and then the solo (the Formula 1 theme tune)
