Anyone watching this post-match saga at Lille? Never seen anything like it. This may be bigger than the Beijing Games opening ceremony

Montpellier are the French champions. Stupendous achievement.

I hope their team isn't torn apart this summer.

Absolutely brilliant achievement by Montpellier so happy for them.

A team that has just spent £2million all season :congrats:

Victory for football.

Doesn't Montpellier have one of the best handball teams too? And now they just won the French title. Pretty awesome sports city. Ligue 1 has had 5 different winners in the past 5 years (Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille, Lille, and now Montpellier)--wonderful parity!

Eden Hazard just comes across as a total prick to me. Granted, he seems to be pretty talented, but his attitude = problem for any club he goes to.

That was a pretty special end to Ligue 1. Admittedly the Montpellier game was the first French league game I've watched live but it was just great to see a team like that win. They were 3 pts off relegation last season I believe.

Ligue 1 is a really good competitive league.
Better players will be going there as well because of PSG's financial clout.

Hoping Newcastle can pick up a few diamond signings from Montpellier :sogood:

Massive one. Paraded himself around the pitch about 10 times, speeches from players, interviews etc. Was only watching 'cause there was rumours he'd be revealing which club he's moving to but after all that ****e he said he still didn't know

Lot of press about AVB not very good with players or the man management. English press making it up/Chelsea players just not happy with him or was it the same at Porto?

Unfortunately, they don't. Even if they did, they said they would of rejected it because they're 'not ready for Europe' and don't feel that they don't deserve it over a Ligue 1 team.

There was a rumour that the team made a pact that if they won the title, they would all stay to tackle the CL together. I can see a few players breaking that pact if a good offer comes their way though.

It's a welcome change from 7 Lyon wins in a row! :p: Montpellier winning it in a season where PSG have begun to flex their financial muscles is astounding.
