So according to the media we'll have Jovetic, Gonalons, Draxler, Cesc, Gustavo, Lewandowski and Reus in time for next season. Silly season has truly begun.

If I'm being realistic, I don't even think Wenger's going to sign Adler. He's spoken previously about how signing a GK could "kill" Chesney's chances at Arsenal and he does his upmost to protect his players. I don't even think we need that many players. The names thrown around are luxury signings. We need a physical DM and a CF so Gonalons and Jovetic would be perfect. Somebody like Draxler would just be a bonus, and I think clubs with more money will be after him too so it'll be difficult.

Most of the above is paper talk. Chesney is still a baby in goalkeeper terms, competition from an experienced keeper will help him in the long run. You can expect 3-4 top signing this signings, we need to work early to prevent the oil teams from taking the ****

Expect the worst but hope for the best is my view with all things regarding Arsenal. I expect a good striker but not much else this summer. I think that Wenger feels the squad is good enough.

If we just sign a striker and a dm I'd be happy

You didn't answer the question. Since you judge players by how many long passes they make, surely you shouldn't rate Iniesta that highly as his game is based on intricate movement and short passing. Ramsey is a useful player and if you watched him closely in the last few games you'd realise that he's an important player for us in terms of keeping the stability of the team and protecting the defence.

Ive seen inesta play long passes successfully in matches, he has the defence splitting pass, ramsey does not. Anyway As for the defence thing it requires both him and arteta to be able to the job of 1 good DM which is why we're lacking when we go forward.

Ramsey with 1.1 key passes, 89% success rate, 2.3 accurate long balls and 0.3 through balls per game. Iniesta with 1.5 key passes, 91% success rate, 2.2 accurate long balls and 0.6 through balls per game.

This must mean ramsey is better as long balls are the only thing that counts

when did I say long passes are all that matter, if you want to look at how good players by focusing on stats then leon britton is the best midfield player in europe and arteta would be up there aswell because they have like 90% pass completion but we all know thats bull. Whatever ramsey is Im sure we can buy better midfield players than him for under 15mill, cabaye would be better than him. You must be a massive ramsey fan to not see that.

you said ramsey is rubbish because he can't do any long balls so in that stats do matter

Or your just a ramsey hater for no reason.

no I said hes rubbish because he doesn't have long passes, defence splitting passes nor does he have quick short interchanging passes like cazorla and wilshire do. Like I said with 15mill you could buy a better player than him.

Is everyone fit for the game? I think the best line-up would be Ramesy and Wilshire playing in DM with Cazorla and Walcott on the wing, Rosicky in AM and Podolski/Gervinho in CF. I doubt Wenger will drop Arteta though, either Ramsey or Arteta will be dropped, atm I just can't see what Arteta will bring to the game against utd

I predict a host of meaningless sideways 5ft passes, purely for the sake of it, which will be completed with a 99.9998% success rate despite the fact they kill our traditional offensive game dead .

Partly the reason I would welcome song back

The weird thing is that arteta-ramsey has been our best pairing so...
Yeah, but look at the teams you've faced with that current pairing. Ever since the tottenham game the hardest team you've had is everton at home, who are really just a tough to beat upper midtable team, similar to how teams view swansea away. Ramsey and arteta should be doing well in those games.

However you're only as good as the opposition you face. It's how united win so many titles without even being at top gear for most of their games. Or you can just look at my teams current europa league campaign if you want a much more recent example.

Not going to hate on them and say they're always crap but I'd like to see them tomorrow against good opposition. Would like to see the ramsey wilshere pairing next season definitely. While you can see arteta's role it's not really that effective against top opposition. Last time I saw arteta boss a game in that role was the match vs liverpool and that's because he was with someone like diaby who had one of his best games at arsenal.

When people say that Ramsey has done well in the last month, do you think they mean he has mesmerised with his technical ability, passing range or dribbling? Or do you reckon they mean he has run himself into the ground up and down the pitch, harrying and closing down space? Because I can promise you that its the later.

Ramsey was the best player on the pitch vs Everton and elsewhere and everyone was rightly waxing off about him. But that kind of game was absolutely made for Ramsey in that it was just an end to end fitness test, not some Wenger classic(where Ramsey would just slow things down tbh). We could barely string two passes together at Fulham the other day and again Ramsey was the perfect player under those conditions.

But apparently praising Ramsey for what he is, a workhorse, offends you somehow. Not surprised, some other clown said that he had a better passing range than Wilshere, and that he was Fabregas' sucessor, a few months back.
