I'm not posh At least I really don't want to be the posh one :') yeah I mean I'm sure I'd manage if I had to take the loan but I'm glad I don't have to yeaaah I think thats most people! Just remember, if you don't have a job/source of income at home then the money has to last you the holidays too! Hahaha i have a weakness for topshop/asos/clothes/shoes/bags going to have to stay strong though! Hahah yeah Weeell I'm pretty sure I want to do French, but I had abit of a panic earlier today since I looked on the pre-enrol thing and it says there are only 40 places! So failing that, Italian (i really wanted to do a language) and then for my other minor I'm thinking either geography or media and cultural studies or philosophy or the lica module :') So completely decided as you can see! :') Aww thats a shame, its one of the real benefits of Lancaster imo! But I guess you'll be busy enough already with engineering! Yeah but both my parents work alot normally, so since we're going on the Saturday I wouldn't get any help! My mum's taken this week off to try get me sorted abit :') packed up all my kitchen stuff (minus food) today!
Hahaha, I'm just messing with you... mostly. I'm hoping it doesn't stray too much from my plan though, since i can only imagine being home for summer and xmas - actually applying for some december temp places now! Hahaha, that's a lot of weaknesses! Are you sure you're not gonna relapse or something - there's always people you can talk to about your addiction :') 40 places is plenty, i'm sure you'll get your place as long as you don't take your dear sweet time going to register! But either way, doing a language will definitely be great for you - after all, how many other historians know french or italian? Yeah, busy busy busy -_- I've heard a lot about it, but i don't really mind since what i would have taken is already an important part of my course! Fair enough, whenever you and your parents have time is probably best anyway - plus it means you don't have all your stuff strewn across the house like i do with mine  That's nice of your mam, and she's clearly helped since you've already packed kitchen stuff! (Yeah, lets keep any food in the fridge for now )

You are very welcome! Everyone here has been so helpful, so I thought I should write something in case anyone had the same problem as me. Only problem is that now I'm even more excited to go to Lancaster! I hope the contact list helps you as well!

Hmmph! Haha idk when I'll be home but more often than that probably :') though maybe only for two weeks at christmas, since I may go on the Uni ski trip, and we're off skiing as a family last week on the christmas hols :') Hahaha i just browse mainly since I haven't enough money :') Just having more money will mean more temptation! I should be able to cope though! Hopefully.... problem is though I wasn't going to enrol until freshers, since i need to go to talks for my other subject decision, and county have like the latest enrolment time! I emailed someone about it but they're out of office til next monday  Yeah well i figured if i have the opportunity i might as well do it! oh right thats okay then! tbh you arent really missing out since most other universities don't offer it anyway! As long as you like your course thats all that matters yeah it is haha, i've got an ever growing pile in my room though! And dad keeps buying me new things he thinks i'll need :') (I havent bought any food yet since most of it would go off before I get there )

bit of a stupid question but can anyone tell me if we're allowed to bring like a +1 during freshers? one of my best friends didn't get into uni this year so I was thinking about inviting her out for one night to wherever we'll be with freshers

In the module tab on the right hand side of the table it will tell you if you have any clashes, just letting you know. I have clashes but they're easily sorted and not much of a big deal apparently.

    Visitors
One visitor may stay in your room for up to three nights in any seven day period with the permission of the Residence Officer or Porter. In order to comply with fire regulations, all visitors staying after midnight must register either in advance or on arrival with the Porter. Visitors may not stay overnight in the residences if their host is absent from residence (you may be disciplined if this is not adhered to). As you are the resident, you are responsible for ensuring that your visitors observe the University Rules, College Rules and the rules as laid down in the Terms and Conditions. Please see your Residence Officer for further information.

After midnight, the Porter will escort any visitor acting in a noisy or obstructive manner out of the residences and if necessary out of the College or off the campus altogether.

Our accommodation is for the use of students over 18 years of age (with the exception of some students that are 17 on admission but shortly to become 18). If you are having a minor to stay (for example a younger sibling) you must notify the Porter when signing them in. You may not have anyone under 16 to stay, except with the written permission of the
    Residence Officer.

sorry I worded that wrongly, I wasn't asking about actually hosting her, I just meant like is there anything against bringing a non-uni person to join in freshers events?

You could name any colour, arty thing, or even sciencey thing and i'd probably have to google it - i'm not very bright at the moment after so many weeks of lazing about

Yeah, it'll be the same with me probably, except my mam has a history of not bothering on the last day :') But otherwise, it shall be trains as well for me, thank god for the rail card from santander because coaches to and from newcastle took 7 hours or so in total

I know, i heard it was cold and wt all the time as well so i went down wearing a big coat and immediatly regretted it! And now that you mention it, i need to get some waterproof/winter stuff myself

Hmm, computer animation does sound interesting, but it definitely wouldn't help to not get much useful help with the maths and progrmming, especially when you hoped for a more creative focus :/ But fair enough, at least you tried it out and had a good time with your flat mates
How many weeks holiday have you had? I finished on the 31st of May so it feels like forever for me

It's absurd how much money a rail card saves you, I don't think I would ever travel by train if I didn't have one. I am tempted to change to Santander next year if I can the rail card is definitely worth more then a free NUS card

I need to buy a big puffy coat to keep me warm and I hope I don't have to wear a hat I hate them :/

It was really irritating I was on the creative version and I don't think anyone realised that you have to pass the first year of the technical one and then it changes which is really silly when for the technical one they ask for two technical A levels like Maths, Physics and Computer Science and for the creative one two arty subjects so hardly anyone on my course had done A level Maths and your really stuck without it when your learning stuff in further A level maths and haven't done it since GCSE. At least I stuck it out to the very end even completed my last few assignments and sat my exams knowing I wasn't staying

Yep, I remember it quite well actually. I was outside training on a field near the top of a hill in town in a tee shirt and felt fine. A few weeks later it snowed in the training session

It doesn't rain all the time here, only when you actually want to do something outside/when exams are finished!
The weather in the UK is amazing completely unpredictable  it's very annoying I guess I should be prepared for all types but mostly cold first :P

So it will only rain every time I need to walk to a lecture, how fantastic

Thankfully the way the university is built means that you can get to most lecture theatres from most parts of campus with only a minimal amount of time not under a roof.
Not if you live in lonsdale, cartmel though. You might want to get a new rain coat if you live there!
