    Interview invite for biochemistry
That's fab, well done you. Did you get an email through, or just check oriel? I am still just down as longlisted for vascular. Hopefully they will release interviews for more specialisms today :-)

Just noticed the Biochem interviews come first, so looks like maybe they will release them in order which makes a lot of sense :-)

    Interview invite for Biochemistry too.

    Shortlisted Reserve for Genetics.

Really strange since I tailored my application more towards genetics! How this shortlisting works i have no idea...

Reserve for Genomics, unsuccessful for Genomic counselling

People from last year, has any of you been invited to an interview after being in the reserve list?

Interview for vascular on oriel (no email yet), which is the last week of interviews, so maybe they are not sticking to order. Good luck everyone :-)

Wow, so you're gonna be a Trainee BMS in Immunology? That really is gold dust! Immunology is hard to get into, I've tried! I've just started a Trainee post in Blood Sciences (Haematology, Biochemistry & Blood Transfusion), but am still holding out for STP in Immunology with Haem & BT as my second choice. Did you apply for the same specialisms last year as you have this year?
Yeah, it's within the same trust I'm at now so I think my lab experience helped a lot! I applied for the haem&blood trans and immunology in the first application cycle I did. I've been unsuccessful again this time so sticking with the trainee BMS post I've got now! Good luck

Anyone knows if we can ask them for feedback?
I know they say that because of tons of applicants they are unable to do that, but I think I saw somewhere on previous year's threats that someone ask for that and received some feedback. Just wondering if they can point out what went wrong in general.
What if, for example, in their opinion our degree was not relevant to the specialism and they did not even bother to read rest of the application?
    How can we know that?

I applied for Immunology too! I thought about applying for Haem but I did my IBMS placement in an Immunology lab so I thought I'd have the most experience in that specialism!
Oh cool, so are you a registered BMS in Immunology then?! My trust is quite small so we send away all our immunology samples to a different trust so it's been difficiult for me to decide whether I wanted to do immunology more or if I wanted to be a Trainee more as I had more chance at my current lab and obvs I chose the latter. Kinda regretting it now because I've done loads of research around immunology and rediscovered my love of it. Did you get an interview for Immuno today? I was unsuccessful for Immunology but got an interview for Haem. Really weird because I feel as if i barely spoke about Haem at all but I'm not complaining!! What did you have as your second choice?

Unsuccessful for genomics and bioinformatics. Did anyone who's still doing a PhD get an interview? I'm convinced thats why I didn't make it. My experience and skills were exactly what they were looking for, and I'm honestly not sure how my application could have been any better. I got to reserve last time I applied but this time my essays were much better.

I put my final submission date which is 2017, but I was told you could do the stp while writing up. Guess I'll have to wait for the shortlisting scores to come out. Don't really understand it though, my application was infinitely better than last time but I did worse.
Ah maybe it was the 2017 date then, I put 2016 as my completion date. I guess they might not want you writing up at the same time for some reason.

Does anyone know how many people get on to the shortlist reserve? Such a vague status...
