Which topic has a higher chance of coming up, would you say? Social policy or changing family patterns. I haven't revised either and cramming is killing me, haha.

i do sociology & h&sc but I'm restarting next year since this year didn't go as planned... can't wait to go to college next year, so I'm putting in as much effort for sociology as possible since I had to pay to do the AS paper and hopefully it'll go good

    Benston
    Ansley

I have this problem with Functionalism. Only been taught Parsons and Murdock. Anyone got any others?

It seems feminism, couples, demography may come up
When you say demography do you mean wealth, income, etc..?

Also, everyone seems to think demography is likely to come up, if it's the 20 marker can I please have some theories? We weren't even taught it in class! Nor were we taught social policy.

Anyway these are the theories I've found...

    Ageing population
    Cumming and Henry
    Hockey and James

    Death rate
    Hirsch
    Blaikie

    Birth rate
    Beck and Beck-Gernsheim

    Anyone know any for immigration?

I dont think theories are as important in this topic to be honest.

Fran Ansley is Feminism not Marxism, didn't she say women were the 'takers of ****'

What does Althusser say about the family though?
It is one of the ideological state apparatus?

That might not be right, a better one to use would be David Cooper. Cooper argues the housewife role provides unpaid labour, helping the capitalist system.

    So...

    Zaretsky
    Engels
    Benston
    Ansley
    Cooper

    Possibly Althusser

Got any for Functionalism other than Parsons and Murdock?

You're spot on but like Benston she's a Marxist feminist. Our teacher says these can be used for either feminism or marxism you just need to define they are Marxist feminists.
