We basically just visited the ATLAS detector visitor centre, and the Cryogenic Testing Facility. We didn't get to go into the actual LHC, but it was super interesting and fun.

If you do go, visit Hotel Edelweiss' restaurant. That's where we ate, and it's pretty much the coolest.

I'm really sorry, if that were the case for me I wouldn't have been able to go :frown: How long are you in Geneva for? I don't think we were in the country for even 24 hours - flight landed about 5pm Friday, left 2:30pm Saturday :tongue:

When did you send your application off? I was thinking about applying to a couple of engineering courses at Queen Mary but it's probably too late.

I applied this morning lol
Btw, anyone doing OCR AS Biology , here is all the past papers of F211

Welcome to the new current year 12 thread, our home for the next year. (We’re now in the A Level forum :woo: )! that must mean we have matured :eek: :wink: This is the start of 2 very important years for us and A levels can be hard but that won't scare us! We have a high target to beat last year’s year 12s so let's all work hard :sogood:

Below is a list of subjects and exam boards that we are all taking, I'm sure it will be useful when you need somebody to help you :h: (Newcomers please quote me if you wish to be added :h: )

Hi, i know I'm a little joining this thread :biggrin: anyways I'm doing AQA Biology and Chemistry and Edexcel Maths and OCR ICT :biggrin:

Ahh it's ok and I applied on the 11th and I got a reply on the 13th but I think they are just going down the list from the people who sent it earlier but you should hear something soon, I'm sure you will get an email soon as there were places left when I looked a couple of days ago.

If you do get a response let me know :-)

yeah same day i applied haha, hope i do hear from them soon but if i do i'll get so stuck on what to write for the 150 words :s-smilie:

aw i will but i didn't apply for the same course, course that i applied for is now full :frown:
thank you! :smile:
Hi everyone, i'm new here.
i'm doing AQA maths, physics and music, and OCR chemistry if you could add me to the list:smile:
How would you find the sum of the numbers that are divisible by 7 that are between 300 and 600?

I got a series like:
u1=301[br]un=301+7n[br]299=7n[br]n=42.7..[br]42u_1=301[br]u_n=301+7n[br]299=7n[br]n=42.7..[br]42 numbers within 300-600 that are divisible by 7
then I used:
S42=422(2×301+41×7)[br]=18669S_{42} = \frac{42}{2} (2\times 301 + 41\times 7)[br]=18669
However, the answer in the back is 19264... I tried with n=43, still didn't work. Any ideas?

Btw formula for sum of n terms in an arithmetic series is
Sn=n2(2u1+(n1)d)S_n=\frac{n}{2} (2u_1 + (n-1)d)
d=common difference, 7 in this case because it's multiples of 7...?
