If Russell Brand wants to be taken seriously he really needs to do better than QT tonight. He spent most of the programme shouting about how bankers bonuses were too high and just general socialist ani-wealth nonsense. Almost nothing he said had any relation to the question that was asked.

At points I found even myself twisting my face into a 'what' expression because he just seemed to spout the same lines over and over.

I find Farage very entertaining and Russell Brand very irritating. Look forward to seeing it though.

Brand was a fool. He showed himself up.

He is an armchair anarchist at best.

Why was Farage on the show? Him and his blasted party get far more attention than they deserve.

He got absolutely laid into by that member of the audience and whilst there were moments when he was his characteristic self, it seemed he was overall rather subdued tonight (when excluding the anti-wealth rants) which is strange as his previous appearances have been better. Probably didn't help that some sympathising heckler kept yelling at everyone raising the topic of immigration and calling them racist. Question Time would be so much better without the annoying audience.

How?
You can't deny that Nigel Farage has been on the show a substantial number of times compared to other parties with the same or more amount of MP's. I get UKIP and Farage are quite controversial and it gets viewers to tune in but views aren't really represented, such as the Greens and Plaid. Farage alone has been on it 6 times in the past two years.

Have they ever had a Plaid representative on there?

Yeah, Leanne Wood was on the other week for the first time in a while. I think Elfyn Llwyd was on at the start of the year as well.

Oh yes, I recall seeing Leanne Wood in the past, actually. She's always pretty good.

Question Time generally has Tory and Labour represented every week, Lib Dems almost every week and UKIP every 4-5 weeks or so. That doesn't seem over representation to me. You lefties may not like UKIP but that doesn't give you the right to complain when they are represented in the media. Let's not pretend that the Greens have had anywhere close to the same impact that UKIP have on British politics.

Aw . I still have to write and submit an essay, on the cheerful and Christmassy topics of war and torture.

 I just Googled that and it was one of those "what has been seen cannot be unseen" moments. It's very cruel of your Uni to make you write an essay on that before Christmas. It would put anyone off their mince pies.

I hope you're joking. It would be very unfortunate if doctors were fainting every time someone was brought in with a ripped anus or needed treatment during Christmas.
