are you the guy that said he wants to make 500k a year?
No. I'm a lazy ******* who works for the government. I just want to be happy. I'll always earn enough to be comfortable as I'm not retarded, and that's good enough for me.

Maths was a joke. Had so much coursework worth tiny amounts. Doing coursework that were worth 2.5% of one module. Could have got away with doing a lot less. I was just worried that I'd need to know it to do well in 2nd and 3rd year. It was just a scare tactic I think. Although it worked...

There was loads to regret. Should have been making friends and going to the gym instead of working and hanging out with my old school friends. Although I had over 300 hours on Tony Hawk's Project 8, so maybe that was why... I was so ****ing good at that game.

Off to play FIFA 16 tomorrow
You're crazy for doing even a little bit of maths at uni :mmm: admirable though.

Don't regret working hard because you got an awesome grade, the stuff you missed out on doing at uni you could still do now anyway (the social stuff), Did you do well in second and third year though? And yeah I get what you mean about the coursework, same with my course. Putting in loads of effort for coursework that's only worth 5% ffs.

    And oooh nice :awesome:

Maths is absolutely ridiculous because everything is worth such a small percentage. For example, one of my friends had 11 exams in his third year - I only had 12 over my entire ****ing degree. Whilst I was doing 2000 word essays worth 10 credits each which could be done in 2 days, he was slaving away over entire modules which would only be worth that amount.

My total student debt is £20k with interest. God knows what it would have been if I paid the higher fees.

I know it works slightly differently wrt a tuition fee debt, but does it not bother you that it's hanging over you?

Isn't that a STEM vs Arts thing? How could any subject have just 2 exams if it covers multiple modules per semester? I did 8-12 exams per year.

Also did barely any work in first year but still got a 1st  /smug

Not really tbh, although getting the first statement through was a bit of a shock! It's such a miniscule amount being taken out of my pay packet per month that I don't really notice. If the system ever got changed to a graduate tax or something else then yeh maybe i'd be more concerned, but under this format i'm not too bothered. It's not like i'm going to get a call requesting I pay up the full amount at once.

Yeh I had a 4000 word essay worth 20 credits, and a dissertation worth 60 credits. In 1st/2nd year I had 5 exams.

    Thanks

I did better in second and third year, but probably because it actually counted.

I actually liked a lot of coursework as it took a bit of pressure off, and it helped you learn the course material during the year which help so h keep on top of it. But for maths we had one problem sheet every week for every module. It was just so much work, and I can't remember any of it.

It's more just looking back now - I could have done a lot less work and been fine. Not like you're going to take that risk at the time, though. I put a lot of pressure on myself. That's probably why I've virtually done nothing for my PhD.

Student loan company threatening to fine me if I don't tell them where I am. They were fine before I started earning.
