Very concerning that there haven't been any links to a new GK, that is probably our highest priority. Not that bothered about Suso leaving (although he wasn't given a fair run and looked to be very talented) or us not getting Shaqiri as we have Coutino, Sterling, Lallana and Markovic as our forwards which is fine. Think, we'll just end up buying our own player (Origi)...

Who is there that's even available though? We've put Lindegaard on the transfer list who would be perfect for Liverpool, but United would never sell and Liverpool would never attempt to buy. Even Mark Schwarzer who's just joined Lesta would have been a good short term option.

What a waste, Suso was incredibly underrated.

    Suso's a weird one.

He hasn't been given a chance but every time I see him he looks lively and promising. Maybe he doesn't apply himself in training etc.

He may not be on Coutinho/Sterling level but he's better than Allen or Markovic.

Allen isn't a forward and we haven't seen enough of Suso to compare him to Markovic.

Just about to say this. Doubt many people have watched him enough to come out with such statements. The irony is they haven't seen Markovic in full flight so they're essentially comparing 2 players they haven't seen play

Think the Suso move was on the cards when the club weren't able to get him to sign a contract extension on the cheap last year.

Man Utd have signed Valdes on an 18 month contract. You have to think we missed a trick there since we could have replaced Mignolet on the cheap with some proper experience.

No doubt now we'll go buy someone like Vorm for a lot more money.

    Why didn't we sign him?
Valdes isn't gonna get a game ahead of DDG whereas he'd be first team for us.
Surely if we'd have gone in for him we would have won.

Valdes and Cech were 2 excellent options to solve our keeper problem.
Now we aren't gonna get either and we're gonna waste even more money on somebody like Begovic or Vorm who are good but nothing more.

Valdes should've joined Liverpool - First choice

Balotelli should be sold - I doubt anyone will buy him with that goal ratio

Money spent/invested in the wrong players

Liverpool won't go CL this season either for their decision making process during windows.

Top scorer will leave the club, i feel it for you.

He already knows Van Gaal & our GK coach from his Barcelona days, that will have a lot to do with it.

Suso first broke into the team because he fit into BR's way of playing, and we had a lack of quality players in forward positions. His style is pretty similar to Coutinho's really. Both even have the habit of going missing in games. Ultimately though, Coutinho is a level above so it's no real surprise that Suso couldn't break through here once Coutinho was signed.

It's a shame really, but I think he'll always be a good player rather than a great player who could take us to the level we want to be. I don't think he would have ever been more of a squad player. I'm not convinced Italy is the right place for him to blossom but we'll see.

The Valdes deal is incredibly frustrating.

We were interested in signing Valdes a few months ago, back in October we wanted him to go on a trial for us before giving him a contract but he refused to go on a trial so we ended up cooling our interest in him. It's a shame considering that he is a highly experienced GK who surely won't be able to do worse than dracula.

Wrt Suso, I'm sure if he was good enough BR would have given him a chance at LFC. The facts are we don't know how he applies himself during training and how highly the coaches rate him. From the outside looking in, he looked like a decent player and I would have liked to see him play for us. But considering we have Markovic (20), Coutinho (22), Sterling (20) all who are very young and playing well as well as Lallana vying for attacking midfield positions. It's hard to see who's spot he would take since they are far more developed and experienced than Suso is at age 21.

Milan to sign Salah on loan apparently, so we're the only team in for Shaqiri.

We've also apparently made enquiries into Jackson Martinez. No idea how true it is though.
We could easily be in for Shaqiri.

Of course, you're a cl club and we're not, so obviously you have more pull.

Agree with every word. He's no better than the three you mention.

Correct decision for his career progression to let him go. He'll suit the football in Serie A, too.
