Oh, yeah my bad, I still think 5 is low for an essay though. I usually aim for more than 10, particularly since evaluation names are usually single short sentences.
Normally i get about 8 in but we were advised by our teachers 5 or 6 but more if we could!

What happens if you do worse in this resit than last year? Does your grade get replaced anyway, or do they keep the best one?

Anyone evaluating research methods my teacher taught us PERVERT
Practical- time, money, training, requirements of funding bodies etc.
Ethics- consent, deception, protection from harm, confidentiality etc.
    Reliable- Is it replicable/repeatable?
Valid- Is it an accurate picture of society?
Evidence- Any studies which have used this method?
Representative- Is it the same result for all members of the population?
    Theoretical- Positivist or Interprevist?

I don't have many for demography since it's not really a names topic

    I have:

    - Harper
    - Hirsch
    - Phillipson
    - Eriksen
    - Castles
    - Castles and Kossack
What did each of these researchers say, because I don't think I've ever heard of them!

one paragraph each. 1 strength and 1 weakness. we got taught to add evidence after each point that it applies to so we dont miss it out/mess it up

Hisrch - new policies must be established finance ageing population,
Phillipson - state unwilling support elderly, no use capitalism.
    Eriksen - transnational identities
Castles - assimilisationist policies counter-productive, mark out minority groups as 'other, prevents assimilation
Castles and Kossack - assimiliationist policies benefit capitalism racially dividing working-class

When I use it in say a 20 mark, I do the intro, then 2 advantages ( practical, reliable etc), two disadvantages (again practical ethics etc.) to try and get a balance, maybe throw a theoretical view in, before you conclude, then write a conclusion
    Hope that helps a little
