Foreign office looks greatly diminished with this new Brexit department and international trade department. Not quite the great office of state it once was certainly.

Except those 2 new departments are MASSIVE things right now and mostly things that the FCO wouldn't have been doing in the first place

No but it's certainly what they had been doing until Brexit. The EU was at the heart of lots of what the foreign office did, and in recent times the commercial aspect of the foreign office had been enhanced.

I suppose these two departments are temporary, and the FCO may well regain it's former lustre. In truth it's been on the decline since Suez

I expect the brexit department to last until the election, and international trade until the election after that.

A lot of Tories and UKIP idiots don't believe in it because 'uh let's not listen to scientific experts and instead listen to Farage'

The ones who do acceptor though are genuinely quite selfish and think that just because we don't see huge direct effects in the *UK at the moment that it doesn't matter.

It's a minor factor and within that Britain's contribution is even more minor still. Our emissions are about 1pc of the global total with, well, actually the models having collapsed.

    Models collapsed?
And just because we don't do it much doesn't mean we don't have a part to play.

Indeed they don't care about generations to come, the effects of oceanic acidification, the affects of acid rain killing forests, the effects of future flooding events due to it being a more unpredictable climate.

    It's laughable really.
The Tories justification for austerity was 'think of the future generations' yet that apparently doesn't apply for the far, far greater threat to future generations of climate change.*

Austerity doesn't even make sense. The justification is poor and makes the future worse anyway.
