“Qur’an and Sunnah are not there to reinforce and support your ideas. Qur’an and Sunnah should be the measurement of your ideas. It is very important to be content with the teachings of the prophet (saw). Don’t add anything, and don’t take away anything. The Qur’an has not been revelled to make you a prophet; the Qur’an has been revealed so that you can follow the prophet.”

    Where have our manners gone?

Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.

And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [ Allah ]."

It's really not about how you begin your journey, rather how you end it. See, a man once decided he was going to kill rasullullah sallallahu alayhi wasalam, and he became the second sahabah promised jannah on earth.

I attended a talk, and the ustadh taught us how to make this 'dua-ed' water.
(Hehe, sorry, I don't know what to call it)

It's afdhal (best) to do this on Friday night. (Thursday night going to the Friday)

    So, here:

Take your bottled water (there can be more than one) and leave the cap open

    1) First, recite the istiadhah and basmalah.

    Spoiler:
    Show
I seek refuge with Allah, from the cursed satan.
In the name of Allah, the most merciful, the especially merciful

    2) Recite ayah 19 of surah shura 7 times

    Meaning from
Sahih International:Allah is Subtle with His servants; He gives provisions to whom He wills. And He is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might.

    3) Recite this 7 times, I've looked it up and it's from a hadith

    Transliteration: astaghfirullah-al-'adhiim, rabbil-'arshil-'adhim ay-yashfiik
    Meaning:
Allah the Magnificent, Lord of the Magnificent Throne to cure you

    Spoiler:
    Show

    Jamiat Tirmidhi
    Chapters on medicine

Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Prophet (S.A.W) said:
"There is no Muslim worshiper who visits one who is ill - other than at the time of death - and he says seven times: As'alullah Al-'Azeem Rabbal 'Arshil 'Azeem an yashfik ('I ask Allah the Magnificent, Lord of the Magnificent Throne to cure you') except when he will be cured."

    Spoiler:
    Show

    [Sahih]

    4) Recite this dua 7 times

Transliteration: maa shaa-Allah, kaana minal-mukminiina haqqa
Meaning: Those willed by Allah, make us among the rightful mukmin
(I translated that myself, sorry for inaccurate meaning if any- couldn't find the translation)

    5) Blow on the water

InshaAllah, our body will be healthier and we will be able to do more ibadah That ustadh established a tahfiz school, and he taught the students there to make this water. I guess it helps with your memory too. Easier to memorise the Quran

How is it embarrassing? We're all on a journey to acquire Islamic knowledge. Some of us expose what we know, others don't. Just because someone who wasn't Muslim now is and appears to be well rooted alhamdulilah, doesn't make us Muslims born shameful in comparison. I mean I could be wrong I guess, Allahu a'lam.

I think it just depends on the person. Some people are more motivated to learn about Islam than others.

"My sins, were I but to ponder them, are so copious.
But greater yet is my Lord's forgiveness.
In my righteous deeds lies not my expectations.
But in the mercy of Allah have I anticipations".

SubhanAllah. From 'Journey to Allah' by Ibn Rajab.

This was in the chapter where the noble scholar discusses how our deeds are not sufficient to attain jannah. In fact, they are barely nothing. Because Allah swt has blessed us with so much. 500 years worth of worshipping isn't worth the eye sight He has provided us with. But His mercy is so great, we have hope in attaining jannah through it. SubhanAllah.
