    Hi All,

I'm an American applicant who applied to LSE on October 15th (I've got my stats below). Should I be worried that I've only received the two-week email today? Also, if anyone could generally comment on my chances I'd very much appreciate it

    SAT: 2370 (800 CR, 800 M, 770 W)
SAT II (Math Level 2): 800
AP Exams 2012: 5s in Calculus BC, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: Electromagnetism
AP Exams 2013: 5s in Chemistry, Statistics, English Language & Composition, United States History
AP Exams (Pending) 2014: French Language and Culture, English Literature & Composition, American Government, Comparative Politics

I took the ACT but I know a fair bit about 'good scores' on the SATs and wow is say your chances are pretty good with that score! I'm taking Math SAT II this weekend and I don't know how I'm going to deal with the negative scoring (I guess the answer would be- not to get anything wrong)!
You've got 5s in all of your AP classes which is pretty impressive and a wide and relevant course range. (APs aren't scored out of 6 are they?)
I don't know if AP classes are am equivalent to A Levels or if they're regarded as less rigorous. Regardless LSE will have a specialist in US qualifications. However, coming at it from a fellow applicant and a person familiar with the US system I'd say you're in with a good chance.

If you don't mind me asking where else are you applying in the UK and/or the US?

    Good luck!!

Thanks for the response! APs are graded out of 5, but I can't believe Oxford/LSE when they say they're equal to A-Levels (those take you two years, right?).

If you've taken SAT Math practice tests, have you checked those against past curves? I'm not too sure, but I think there's a good proportion of kids who get 800s and a fairly generous curve (you'd have to check CollegeConfidential though).

In the UK, I'm applying to Oxford, LSE, Durham, UCL, and Warwick - all for PPE or some variant. In the States, I'm applying Early Action to UChicago, and probably Regular Decision to Princeton and MIT. I actually might end up asking for TSA advice in the Oxford thread...

Yeah 2 years, but I guess APs are just the best comparison they can make tbh, don't complain! You're a very competitive applicant with those scores!! Aha thanks for the advice, I'm aiming for a 750 but we'll see aha!!

Good luck with your applications! I was so nearly tempted by PPE but I chose Law in the end :/ I'm also going ED for Barnard because I am desperate to go there but we'll see

It might be helpful if people stated the course/department they applied for when posting updates in this thread.

Same! I hope they don't delay as much as the Maths department apparently did with their follow-up e-mails.
