First of all, i am a convert to islam and thus still learning about all these fiqh things which i would have never imagined when i converted.

I have recently been told travelling without mahram is haram, which means I can not fufill my desire to go travelling nor can i spend a year abroad studying in france. I've come to terms with this one, it was deeply upsetting for me but i have come to terms with it, accepted it and consoled myself by thinking i would still go to university in england and have a great time.

I have now been told that taking student loans is haram. Which possibly means i can't even go to university and do the law degree i have wanted to several years now. What the hell am i supposed to do? I can't travel and I can't get a degree?

Are there any other alternatives? My grades are mediocre AAB, which means im not eligible for any scholarships. I don't know any rich people, my family can't afford it. Please can you give me some advice on what other muslims are doing about this issue?
    Salaam,

Its better if you ask here,...........I would suggest you look to your local scholars.
As some UK based ones have stated it is ok due to the needs of a degree to survive in the UK...while others have not, and suggest finding alternatives. Saving up, using the grant, bursaries, applying to scholarships which are available from multitude of group's. Getting a proper gap year placement to cover the costs, work part time...summer placement, etc

You can set up a payment plan, so you pay monthly instead of the full amount up front.

Mass Rohingya Muslim grave discovered in Thailand.

Burma Times Correspondent: May 03, 2015

The bodies of 26 Rohingya Muslims have been exhumed as authorities ended their search at the mass grave site, according to reports by Thai media.

“In total we have 26 bodies. As far as I know one is a woman. We still cannot tell the cause of their deaths,” said pol Gen Jarumporn Suramanee, the head of the forensic team at the site.

The refugees were deprived of food and tortured, according to Thai authorities.

Refugees in Thailand are held in the jungle camps of Southern Thailand till their families can afford to pay the ransom money.

The Thai government vowed to punish those responsible for the deaths. Human rights groups and some media outlets however produced recent evidence that high ranking officials in the Thai government, armed forces and law enforcing authorities are in cohorts with human traffickers.

Doctors treating the two sole survivors — men aged 25 and 35 years — told AFP their patients were suffering from a range of ailments.

“Both are malnourished, have scabies and lice,” Dr Kwanwilai Chotpitchayanku told AFP at Padang Besar hospital.

“The older man could not walk, he had to be carried off the mountain. He hadn’t eaten anything for two days before he was found. He told the translator he had a fever in the jungle for two months.”

Police suspect that there is at least one similar camp in the area.

Rohingya refugees in Thailand and Malaysia have however told Burma Times that the whole area is full of similar camps where hundreds of Rohingyas are tortured and starved by their captors till their families manage the required money.

According to Brad Adams, Asia director of Human Rights Watch, “The finding of a mass grave at a trafficking camp sadly comes as little surprise.”

Many fear that this is just the tip of the iceberg, there are many mass graves waiting to be found.

Why not? And you don't have to answer in such a patronising way. Jeez

    Depends
    Are you not a troll?

The muslim answer would be along the lines that men aren't really allowed to beat up their wife's either and only allowed to lightly tap them as a means to guide rather than punish. Women may seek divorce in certain circumstances but ultimately if a husband is unjust Allah will punish him and therefore there is no need for the wife to trouble herself as she may end up getting hurt.
I think that sums it up.
