This is basically what I'm talking about, so, no. But like I say, you're fine.
So I'm annoying for asking you to evidence calling me annoying? Gosh, how reasonable. What's really annoying is insulting someone, refusing to justify this insult and then after doing so each time trying to cover it up by saying something like 'But like I say, you're fine'.

I guess this is the political backlash in response to the Liberal progress. How predictable.

You're really just reinforcing the point. If you don't understand why this kind of post is slightly irksome to some people, there's little point in showing you further examples. Also one thing you should learn about me is that on the internet, I'm quite happy to be lazy. I have to be methodical and justify everything in work and life, this is not somewhere I will continue it!

Now see this little edit makes me think that you're either a troll or are about 16. If it's the latter, fine. I was like that at 15. But if it's the former, you are annoying. This is not even slightly relevant or provable. It is therefore annoying.

Why is it then, that these insults have surfaced almost exactly as the election result was released? Seems a little too coincidental for my liking. Please don't accuse it of not being provable when you refuse to evidence anything you say on this forum.

This post was in response to your original post that I'm annoying, so calling this post annoying doesn't at all explain what you said before.

If you're not prepared to justify points, don't make them! You made this same mistake a few days ago in the Ask a Liberal thread when you said Birchington had implied a shift in party policy but then refused to evidence the claim, which turned out to be completely false. Annoying behaviour, and therefore hypocritical too!

It's not something that you need to take seriously, friend. It's just some light hearted banter, just enjoy the progress you've made and don't get so wound up about meaningless comments.

Sure, but you have made a totally implausible causal leap. I mean, from my point of view, in that the Liberals have made fairly mediocre gains and I have absolutely no idea who you are beyond that guy who posted long posts in this election thread, this is just a nonsensical thing to come out with.

Also this kind of thing happens every election thread (and every other event). It shouldn't, but it does. It's not you.

Sound; it's not so much the personal attacks as the intellectual bankruptcy that goes along with them that is so irritating. MHoC is not the shrine of solid argument I hoped it to be!

It's not 'totally implausible' at all. There is good reason behind it. I was one of the strongest promoters of the Liberals changing their name; it makes sense that now we have made some, if not radical, gains, members of other progressive parties in the House would enjoy ripping into me in revenge. At least there is some rationale behind it, which seems to be missing from your posts.

The Liberals are a new party in the sense that we are operating under a new label. There is easily an argument there that we are a new party. We were the Liberal Democrats. We are now the Liberals. Please don't accuse me of 'weaseling' out of arguments or talking *******s. That's unnecessarily offensive as well as false, and, amazingly, annoying.
Yes, there is an argument to be made. That doesn't mean it's a good argument. If you cannot judge the quality of your arguments before you make them then i must add the prefix really to the annoying i used.

This is simple hyper-sensitivity (quite an annoying trait, as it happens). Mac and I checked we were both fine with the talk on our respective walls. Don't attack me for not being able to handle innocent banter which, incidentally, wasn't directed to you or your party.
Fair enough, i was unaware you had checked. Apologies.

Our previous name was costing us at the ballot box because of the negative association voters had with the RL party. It was disallowing a fair judgement of our active and positive contributions to MHoC. You are attempting to pass off your irritation at another progressive party's renouncement of unjust electoral baggage as 'a load of pish'.
Meh, i just find it funny how parties that associate themselves with real life parties can call it electoral baggage, when by the same argument, you have exploited RL associations in order to gain votes in previous elections. In fact, i would say it is not 'electoral baggage' but something you have actively sought out and exploited. Also, this is another thing that annoys me about you - that you seem to think you can read my mind: how do you know i am irritated at it. Quite frankly, the lib dems are as low in my books as they have ever been and i have an overwhelming indifference to their views. In fact, i suggested to the socialists and labour that we work with them on a rehabilitation bill after the tragic one they produced.

Anyway, now that you only gained 1 seat on the previous election, do you concede that the liberal democrat name change failed miserably?

No, I didn't. I said that the Speaker would have had a party affiliation once-upon-a-time which may continue to influence them despite officially discarding previous ties. Perhaps you should make sure you know what I actually said before attacking it.
No, you didn't. You initially asserted what i said, then qualified it with this after corrected. You asserted what i said I suggest you remember what you poster before telling me what to do.

You call me annoying yet here you are crying about a bit of harmless banter that didn't involve you at all, about the positive effect of the Liberals discarding their previous name and distorting what I've said all so you can have a go at someone because you've 'had a bad day'. Sorry you've had a bad day but that doesn't give you license to pour your sorrows over my unsuspecting head, only to then have the nerve to tell me that I'm the one being annoying! :eyeball:
Also, add to the list that you seem to have your head up your bottom. I can say whatever i fancy and your arguments from what i have seen your arguments lack any depth and intellectual rigour. You also come off as arrogant, not really traits i like. Funny that you call me hypersensitive, because you seem to care so much about someone who you are to quick to put down!

Also, distorting what you have said? LOL. Lets see:

That sounds very open to abuse by the Speaker (no personal accusations intended). The Speaker is usually associated with a party and I don't see how a system which relies on trusting this person to tally up votes for parties via PM could have been tolerated for so long
Direct quote from the post linked to above. "The speaker is usually associated with a party" is completely untrue. Seems the only person twisting what you've said, is you

PS. Even if i am having a bad day, i would still find you annoying, just be less vocal about it. Given a few people have already agreed with me, maybe you should chill the hell out.

Because my grandmother died, the hindu mourning process lasts 13 days (look it up). Been working then doing family stuff for a fortnight - exhausting!
