I got a B and 2 C's after pulling my AS grades up from B,D,E and still got an offer for my firm which asked for 3 B's. Life is good.
Well done! I indeed was thinking about you when you were worried about not even getting into your insurance choice!

Consider phoning them and letting them know how close you were, since I dont think they see your ums

Also maybe you could get a priority remark if you think the examiner made a mistake with your grade

There's no universal answer for that I'm afraid Your teachers will usually give you a couple of weeks to refresh your Year 12 content anyway so I wouldn't stress too much about it. Just enjoy your holiday for now!

I did the Sciences and maths to A2 level and got 4x A grades. Did my undergrad at Warwick, now doing a PhD at Cambridge. It all worked out quite favourably really

It's at the discretion of the university. Some unis are lenient and will let you switch course IF it's not a popular one and thus has space. Some have common Year 1 modules so will let you transfer between them at any time before they start to specialise (for example I went from Economics to Economics & Finance at my uni because they have the same modules for Year 1, with Business Economics also an option). If it's a really popular course with substantially different course material you may struggle to do so.
