In purification via electrolysis, why is the impure metal anode connected to the positive terminal?

In purification via electrolysis, why is the impure metal anode connected to the positive terminal?
Because the metal (ie copper) needs to give it's electrons away really to become positive ions and move to the negative

Oh, I know what you mean. You're basically trying to say that at the positive terminal (anode) oxidation occurs so that the atom turns into an ion and dissolves into the solution. Is that right?

That's a bit rude I must say. Its like there's a feud going on between you an him by the looks of it. Saying that sounds like you despise him or something ?

Ooh, that's a bit tricky. You have to make sure that you don't exceed the file size limit and you'll have to use another software eg photoshop to enlarge the image and then save it with an extension of .jpeg or .png and then upload it. Also bear in mind the file size has to be quite small. You'll probably need to change the size and resolution if possible because the bigger the image is the more pixels can appear without changing the resolution.
