Volume of sand = volume of cylinder = pir^2= pi* 4 * 3^2 = 113.0973355 cm2
Then do you know what to do?

well you can find out the volume originally by using formula for volume of a cylinder amd them use the formula for volume of a cone. Workout the volume of liquid above the cone after its flipped
Workout its length and then add 2 which is the height of the cone

Then you take the volume of the cylinder-the volume of the cone
