I'm waiting for my gcse results but couldn't help noticing that there are no clearing places for medicine....is that normal? So if u don't get an offer there's no way u can get in through clearing....?
Isn't that because you have to get an interview for it?
Things like that, Dentistry, Veterinary (high demand courses) usually won't have clearing as they would have had to get interviews first, plus those who didn't get offers, but an interview, can be placed on a waiting list!

My firm is in clearing... if I've missed the grades, I don't think it's massively, so is this a good thing or a bad thing? I guess clearing means it was under-subscribed, but I don't know really.

Universities all over are experiencing 10-15% drops in applicants since tuition fees were put up.

Courses are in clearing because they're under populated. Don't worry!

could it mean there wasn't enough applicants?
It may be possible, however the university never says as to why the course is in clearing.

I think people panic when we see that the course is in clearing.

However it is not the be all and end all, and *usually* the grades are lower in clearing for students if there was not enough that met the offer or if this is the same across the board for all applicants then the university will generally accept students with lower grades than the ones offered on the UCAS offer

If you dont meet your grades for your firm, you can always ring them up and see if they can offer you a place with the lower grades if you really dont want to go to your insurance place.

Clearing can mean all sorts of things - dont worry too much

If my insurance is in clearing, that could be a good thing right?
On their website it doesnt have grade requirements for the clearing bit, just saying "ring this number"...

I hope they would let me in if I end up with missing my grades.

    6 and a half hours!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why am I still awake o.O
Because if one of us is awake, we're all awake, and I am running on red bull and lucozade tablets right now. I will be crashing in the car on the way home from sixth form.
