6 marker:
A healthy diet consists of the right amount of different food groups such as:
- proteins for growth and repair of the cells.
- Fats stored as energy to keep the body warm.
- Water in order to function the body properly.
- Carbohydrates used as energy.
- Minerals and ions in order for the cells to function properly.
-Fibre used to aid digestion.

4 Marker about advantages and disadvantages of Gm Mosquitoes:
- Advantage is that it kills the offsprings so there is a decrease of numbers in mosquitoes. However, it is expensive if millions of mosquitoes and Genetically modified.
- Disadvantage female mosquitoes feed on blood and they are not killed therefore they are not affected. Malaria will still exist.

Indicating species: Lichens

The 6 marker - water because thats where all chemical reactions happen???
Original post by Mike-Lut
It asked for it as a percentage, so shouldn't you have multiplied by 100, to get 60%? That's what I put.

Then you've multiplied it by 100 twice...
2 / 3 is 66.7%
So 2 x 10^6 / 3 x 10^6 is 66.7%
And the question was 2 x 10^6 over 3 x 10^EIGHT - so it must be 100 times smaller.

Not really connected, but does anyone have any idea what the grade boundaries might be for the exam? I know they change but any idea at all would be a good confidence boost / destroyer. haha

I reckon A* - 48, A - 39, B - 30, C - 21

Is invertebrates right fir the last method that was supposed to be different to your first??
What did everyone get in the last question? About the pollution indicator?
Does anyone know if I would get a mark for saying stonefly nymph as the pollution indicator??
I know for the Gm Mosquito pro I put about it being only males so females die, can't reproduce so mosquitoes die out and can't affect as many people with malaria?
God knows how wrong that is.

Water not actually mentioned on the spec so hard to say. I wouldn't give you credit for it, but I'm a harsh marker
Hopefully B2 and B3 will be easier after today's terrible B1 paper. Kinda dreading C1 on Thursday though after seeing how bad today's paper was...

I got 0.666 whoops for the malaria one

I got that then x 100 to get a percentage
oh no..
I said
Mayfly Larvae to indicate dissolved oxygen
And then another way is if there is lots of rat tailed maggots,

I would love that answer
Spec just says you have to know invertebrates, but I imagine they'll give credit for all the ones mentioned in their textbook so stonefly and mayfly and sludgeworm and stuff.

What did everyone get in the last question? About the pollution indicator?

I put:
Mayfly Larvae
Sensitive to dissolved oxygen in water so more larvae mean less water pollution
Dissolved oxygen metres
So this was said by AQAImageUploadedByStudent Room1463512352.813267.jpg

Was mayfly larvae and water pollution suitable for the last question?
If everyone doesn't do well they'll then hopefully bring down the grade boundaries
