Good luck starting that! There's probably room for some kind of Oxford subject beauty contest though.... (but the CS spot may not be hotly contested)
That's why I'm applying in the first place! I passionately aspired to be Miss Oxford X 2012 where X=an Oxford course, and to maximize the probability of fulfilling my dream equalized X to "Maths and CS" :star:

Hi! Any languages applicants around?

Was just wondering, seeing as we're only meant to send in written pieces of a few hundred words, what people are doing/have done? Because all of my pieces that I've done in class are much longer...my English essays about 1600 words, and my French and Spanish 1000 average??

So bit confused really! haha

Thank youuuuu

That video is hilarious, the contestants sure defy the stereotype that comes with being "Miss X" haha
So you're from Vermont?!

Awww! *squeels at how nice people are!* indeed, did you volunteer to be a helper for interviews? Yay for maths! What are the Merton freshers like (if you know any that is) but indeed! I read somewhere that Math students have the most free time/go out the most whereas Law students have the least.

Where are all the Trinity applicants on TSR when you need them.
I did I did. Havn't recieved a reply but I've volunteered Oh the Merton freshers.. well.. :/ they're absolutely utterly.. unknown to me. I've not met any, but then again a lecture hall isn't the best place for socialising. Erm we do have quite a lot, especially compared to school, 2 hours of lectures a day rather that 9-4 or whatever at school. Thing is you can have a decent attempt at a problem sheet the night before you have to hand it in, for law or whatever you have to do hours and hours of reading before you can even start your essay.

I knoww, there are like 4

Hahaha, aww a CS beauty contest.

Yep, she was so funny! She said that the Maths people weren't geeky at all, whereas the CS ones were really :albertein:. Maths seems to be quite popular really, attracts a great variety of people! In fact when I was at Keble the girl who showed me around (did Maths) was wearing heels! IN OXFORD. cobbled streets  She was also Northern and blonde, beating the stereotype (y) win

Well, joint honours: Economics and CS but the only universities that do it are like... Glasgow and St Andrews. Actually they are the ONLY 2 universities in the whole of the UK to offer it xD and I loved politics at the time ha

Aww! some male company for Greg
Yeah CS has a certain reputation... hopefully I can defy that to some extent I'm not your typical CS student...

Ah, a bit like Physics and CS which I briefly considered the other day - only the Scottish universities offer it. (I think it's because in Scotland you have a far broader first year. I was discussing it with anyone_can_fly I think)

To everyone who's tired of my excessive college love: This is the last time. Promise.:yep:
Oooh Univ people! I actually met some of them. A guy called Robert. Nice chap, rower, isn't a fan of the linear algebra lecturer (very understandable), and wasn't doing any other clubs other than rowing because he didnt want to be overcommitted first term. (I was having a make mathmo friends from other colleges competition with a Trinity friend, name, college and interesting fact required, I'm not normally this stalkerish).
Univ also has an amazing boathouse, 2 stories with 3 garages and all new and shiny.. just over the river from Trinity's tiny brick building we share with 2 other colleges.. Jealous much.

How are we going to pick Miss Oxford Maths and CS 2012? I'm not really familiar with the competitions...
Stage 1: Beautiful ppl have beautiful solution. Give them a problem, define their style.
Stage 2: Ask them to tell some mathematical/CS jokes, define their wit and sense of humor.
Stage 3: Ask the guys(Note: NOT CS and Maths guys, they are like http://img.anongallery.org/img/7/9/s...rd-penguin.jpg some normal guys like International relations or smth) to rate the girls from 1 yuck to 5 yucks. The girl with fewer yucks wins the stage. Now we know beauty.

Finalise the results of all 3.

Oxford doesn't do IR as an UG degree  just so you know. It is a Masters though and anyone with "politics" in their course does IR if they wish.

You should ask erm... erm... History students!?
