You'd probably have to watch the entire film to understand why this scene is so powerful.

It's probably not my favourite scene ever though, but it's in my top 10.

First 10 minutes or so of the first Blade film.

It may be gory and it may seem superficially brainless but on a deeper level it does a brilliant job of setting up the film. Also, its just so freaking cool!

This is the most beautiful piece of cinema ever, in my opinion:

Another scene from Road to Perdition:

Oh and I like this too:

But to be honest, I have a million more. I'm such a baby, I cry for almost every film.

Opening scene of Pulp Fiction. I think it's one of the best film scenes ever....the whole film's amazing!

Also, the scene with John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson talking about Mac Donalds cheese burgers.lol.

My favourite film is called Brick. My favourite scene from it is when the protagonist, Brendan, meets with his ex-girlfriend, Emily, when he knows she's in trouble. She's murdered the next day.
It's a really touching scene that subtly communicates much more about their personalities and relationship than you expect. They only meet once but it justifies why he goes through so much to understand why she died.
My jury was out on that film for ages after I saw it, I couldn't decide if the whole high school gangster movie thing worked, or if it was just a bunch of twee, po faced nonsense like you did for performing arts a-level. In the end I decided I enjoyed it even in spite of the awful car stunts, mainly because that kid from 3rd rock who's name I can never remember has a special move where he jumps up and decks people after getting his face kicked in, classic. He was much better in Mysterious Skin, if you happen to have a girl hard-on for him.

My fav scene - The chainsaw dance at the end of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, beautiful, sublime, terrifying.
