People, stay this madness. As a "sitcom", Friends is okay, but it's not funny. The winner can only be Father Ted, which is laugh-out loud funny for the duration of EVERY episode from first aired to last. Then Simpsons 1-10 and Blackadder 2-4.
As much as I love friends I love The Office (US) even more!
Fawlty Towers closely followed by Black Books. Certainly not Friends.
Friends, Friends, Friends!!
No other show even comes close!
I also like Fry and Laurie, and That Mitchell and Webb Look... but no show comes near to Friends. In fact, whenever I watch other sitcoms, it feels like every joke has already been done, in some form or the other, on Friends. Friends had the ideal combination of comedy, drama and "relate-ability".
EDIT: I even watch Scrubs, and regularly follow The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother, but again, Friends>all.
Friends is the epitome of mediocrity.
Fresh prince of bel air and only fools and horses are the greatest for me.
Probably friends, although HIMYM, Arrested Development and The IT Crowd are amazing too.
Everybody loves raymond is funnier than friends, but is still **** at times. I like stuff like green wing, really random humour.
If friends can be counted as a comedy series I will have to say Time Team. The way how they know so much about a civilisation just from a coin etc, that is true comedy. But seriously, I just love blackadder.
Boondocks is good, but isn't really a comedy
scrubs until the slight spin off series when its at med school
I watch the odd episode of Friends but as a whole I don't think it's brilliant, it went on forever and in the last few seasons it was actually as if they had all forgotten how to act. Comedies that were great but ended before they got crap were as mentioned earlier, Father Ted, Black Books, Blackadder, Dad's Army, Porridge (watched those two with my dad) and my personal favourites, The Young Ones and Red Dwarf.
The latter two did have some dodgy moments but I think it added to their charm. I loved Summer Heights High and Kath and Kim if anyone's seen those.
