If he's a young teacher I don't see anything wrong with it. Just keep pestering him about that cup of coffee

hi, i have a big crush on an english teacher at my school, he doesn't actually teach me for anything, but we're good friends and i think he might like me. I'll tell you what he does and you guys give a verdict?
He talks to me every day, specially coming to see me to talk to me, he lets me call him by his first name, he has occasionally called me love, and lets me call him all sorts of pet names. He's very friendly and has helped me out a lot in the year or so that i've known him, we hang out out of school sometimes, and i once asked him for a coffee, and he said 'not tonight, but maybe another night' do you guys think he likes me and what can i do about it? (i'm 18 and in year 13) thanks

Technically, once you leave school and are no longer under his control as a pupil, then there is nothing to prohibit the two of you having a relationship. However, I have to admit that I have grave concerns at the fact that this man has been effectively courting you whilst you have been at school.
Evidently, he has been exploiting this he has had over you; and rather underhandedly at that.
I don't mean to dismiss you, or trivialise either your feelings for this man. However, I would have to question a man's motives who genuinely and actively pursued a female much younger than himself; this seems to smack of either a potential problem with dealing with women on the same age bracket as him, or something bordering altogether more predatory.
