      I usually buy him socks, ties, cufflinks, scarf, whisky, dark chocolate (with chilli - makes it more manly), really spicy chutneys/sauces, books etc.

      This year I've got him some extra strong polar mints in a nice tin case. It was ridiculously cheap, but I know he likes strong mints and you can't get them where we live.

      I went for a book in the end, one about Jamie Oliver and all the issues that he's raised over the years. I'm going to get him a couple of special Christmas tree decorations to go with it, and maybe a bottle of alcoholic ginger beer as well.
