If someone googled me, they would have no problems at all if they were interested in the Atkins diet.

Basically that and some authors and loads about cricket.

    I'm safe

Is the best way to track people down. Can search by name, city, phone number, even email address you used to register on websites
For some reason that comes up with a complete blank if I type in either of my e-mail addresses, despite the fact that my Google one should go straight to my Google+ and Facebook accounts at the very least.

Otherwise all it can find is some photos I've put online (nice photos!), and the LinkedIn profile I created because of this thread.

A google of my name brings up a very successful Stanford Doctor.

And then if you're very specific, you'll find me.

Google search my name and you'll find lots of 40/50 year old women, usually managers/directors/other quite high up jobs but looking like they hate life. Alternatively theres the lady who has made a social page completely dedicated to her pets.

Things aren't looking too good for me then...

Googling my name gets you about 6 pages of links dedicated to an American porn star.

If you add my town onto the end, the first is my Twitter account, the second an article about me in the local paper and the following 6 or 7 from when people have mentioned me on a certain forum.

Oh, and there's also the "we HATE zak smith" Facebook group, that I'd completely forgotten about!

They'd find an aftershave review i did back when i was 13 and a link to my facebook page, which is set to private. They'd know it's me though, because i genuinely think that i possibly have a name which no other person has in the world of close to 7 billion people.

This. I'm a ghost online - I have no online presence in my real name, and it's intentional.

    My Facebook
My profile on a revision site (to which I contributed a huuuge amount of notes at one time)
    My civil partnership gift list
A post from me on the Facebook of a gay night directed at a drag queen

    ...well I'll certainly be outed...

I have the same name as a glamour model/wag/whatever. There's no mention of me and I've been up till page 10. If I add my city it just brings up another minor celebrity.

I don't have facebook or anything. Well I have a twitter but never use it. I searched the name I used for a forum once and it brought up some old posts. Slightly embarrassing ones but luckily unrelated to my real name!
