    A fair few people who post on this forum apparently have pictures of him on the wall, and magazines with all the pages stuck together filled with pictures of him

    They're usually the ones in favour of raising the speed limit.

    Considering that the government has been building roads almost non-stop for decades now, and public transport is utterly crap outside of major hubs, I think that it would be foolish to describe Britain as "anti-car".
    Admittedly some city-centres are, but then they have enormous park&ride car parks ten minutes down the road.

    To be honest I'd love nothing more than for the UK to have Swiss style effective and thorough integrated public transport, but it just won't happen.
