I like being a girl, sure periods suck but especially now that you don't *have* to be overly-feminine I'm free to play computer games, like sports, hate shopping, wear little make-up and never wear skirts/dresses and still be a girl yay.
Plus some girls have the ability to get free stuff just using their boobs.

My deepest sympathy! Clearly you are surrounded by morons. I'm a girl and I enjoy heavy metal and sci-fi movies as much as any guy.
I dislike make-up anyway. In fact, looking at it depresses me because it is a constant reminder of the superficiality of society.

Well I guess I'm in the minority wanting to be the opposite sex, I would prefer to be a girl because I feel I was more built for emotions, caring and the way I think about things. There's a lot more detail into the reasons, which I can't be bothered to write here at the moment... :p:

Nevertheless I have strong male characteristics also, meaning I am ambivalent about it. However, if I could start life again, I would definitely be a girl.

But actually, to those who say men are technically useless due to the fact we can freeze sperm and inseminate females - the same is true of eggs - we can create living beings without a mother or father, as long as we have the genetic material and a place to cultivate it in.

You can get stem cells from anywhere in the body - male or female - that cells can become specialised. Because stem cells are what many specific cells come from, and we are creating cells all our lives!

Also, when DNA fuses, half comes from the mother and the other half from the father. I am pretty sure that they are complementary in terms of the sequence of bases. I may be wrong, but wouldn't it be impossible for two strands of DNA both from females to fuse because the sequence of bases on each strand are not complementary?

Just my opinion...

That's not how it works - 23 chromosomes from each, it's not about bases (I assume you mean the whole ATCG thing?)

Anyway, another reason I wouldn't want to be a guy: erections! What's all that fuss about? I mean, in your early teens anything can seem to provoke them, like people brushing past your leg in a swimming pool and stuff... embarrasment must happen all the time! And yet if American Pie and... life are to be believed, sometimes they get a bit enthusiastic and fire off too early when the situation is a bit more important. And that's just one side.
You get old and they might not work at all! And there are all those 'Does size matter' issues you tend to have.

I am SO glad I'm not a guy.

Hmm. I actually wouldn't mind being a guy, but I would have to be a gay guy. Then you have the advantages of being male, being stronger, not having periods or the pain of giving birth.. but I could also still prettify myself and ogle men. That... would be awesome.
