It's the amount of hard-ons that people seem to have for Thatcher that is rather contrary to what you are saying.

They only stand out because they are vocal, when it comes to any sort of Rep-war, or debate liberals always come out in greater force.

I admire his strong nationalist values and his ability to beautiful describe the situation of England as it was in, yet I also admire how vhemenantly anti-war he was and his realistic approach to nationality and culture.

He was far, far from a perfect individual but there is enough of him that I can admire.

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money" – Margaret Thatcher

"98% of what gets built today is ****" – Frank Gehry

"More than almost any developed nation, ours is a country in which your parentage dictates your progress" – Michael Gove

"You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life." – Winston Churchill

871 Notes "We all know that to educate not according to ability but according to the social situation of the parents is both wrong and a waste. Private education is not fair. Those who provide it know it. Those who pay for it know it. Those who have to sacrifice in order to purchase it know it. And those who receive it know it, or should. And if their education ends without it dawning on them, then that education has been wasted." – Alan Bennett

"The voice of reason is soft" – Sigmund Freud

"The respect for precedent, this clinging to prescription, this reverence for antiquity which all too often ridiculed by conceited and superficial minds, and more the special contempt of the gentleman who admire abstract principles, appear to me to have their origin in a profound knowledge of human nature and in a fine observation of public affairs, and satisfactorily account for the permanent character of our liberties. Our constitution is a prescriptive constitution, it is a constitution whose sole authority is that it has existed time out of mind… it is a constitution made by what is ten thousand times better than choice. It is made by the peculiar circumstances, occasions, tempers, dispositions and moral, social and civil habitudes of the people, which disclose themselves only in a long space of time." – Vindication of the English Constitution (1835) by Benjamin Disraeli, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1868 & 1874 - 1880)

"I think this sort of ‘modern’ word can be much abused and is often used to mean all things good. Look at these beautiful surroundings, which is old-fashioned, glorious English countryside, that’s not modern but its great." – Jacob Rees-Mogg

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” - President Donald J. Trump
