    Fixed

42 measured over 60 seconds from femoral artery.

PS: Women's hearts will beat, on average, faster than mens.
It's only calibrated to take a pulse from a finger. I've tried other veins etc and they are all inaccurate there. Use it as it says.

You don't take a pulse from veins

    I thought normal was 60-90?

Think that might be the average. The lower the HR, the less work your heart is doing essentially. Obviously if its like 10, then, you know, you're basically dead but some athletes can get it down to 30s when resting.

Yep, all the pulses you can feel are arteries (besides feeling the heart itself of course).

As long as it doesn't go below 50 you shouldn't be at risk of a heart attack, it's all good. 50-60 is the heartbeat for athletes.

75, but I was doing some HIIT this afternoon, so my heart is probably working a bit harder to recover.

Except at night, when you're sleeping or tiring, in which case it can drop to as low as 30

52 - much lower than others, is that bad?
Edit: even when I've got it professionally checked its that too :///

Mine seems to be the same. How wonderful. We have this:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradycardia

Though I go to the gym, so that might be one reason why mines low
