I've just started driving lessons in Aberdeen and am paying £270 for 10 hours.

Wondering what others pay in different places.

I'm pretty sure you're getting ripped off. is your instructor someone that your friend had and they recommended to you? if not, then you could be paying £27 an hour for a **** instructor because so many of them don't care about you and only care about the money

I pay £170 for 10 in Greater London and only went with him after a recommendation cause my friend passed first time :/

Where I live it's actually not bad. My sister, her boyfriend and two of her friends all passed with him.

People I know are paying £30 for an instructor who doesn't care.

I paid £190 for 10 hours of lessons. Was a really good driving instructor too, passed first time after about 24 hours lessons.

£10 an hour for the first 6 hours. Then £20 an hour after that, although if you pay for 10 hours in one go, you get one free, so it works out at £18 an hour.

My driving instructor is a complete tool
He charged me £28 an hour, told me I was ready for my test and once it was arranged by myself to do the test he said we should have more lessons!
And to top it off I got an ******** of an examiner, do a turn in the road, while reversing I saw a pedestrian so I waited for him to move so I waited then continued onward and the examiner after the test said it was careless not to wait for him to pass the car! After a debate in the car I failed with one minor and one "serious" fault and now I've to wait ten days for another test 😤😠

Mine cost £20 an hour. I learnt in an auto, when I did lessons in a manual it cost £26. I always assumed auto lessons would be more expensive especially as where I am there's only 2 instructors and both had long waiting lists.
