About 1000. People in this thread need to start looking at opening a savings account for themselves.

Erm I'm 18, and I have around £600 in my current account but £16,000 in my ISA. (Birthday money, saving pocket money for years)

Because interest rates are so high.
Better than nothing for those claiming to have a 30k of savings in their current account. I wouldn't like to carry all of that on the card I use to do my daily shopping tbh.

I always keep £100 for when bills go out or if I need to get a tenner out here and there, and then when I get paid I'll feed my ISA.

I do all purchases on my credit card because I get rewards, so when I get paid (I'm self employed so get paid several times a week) I will firstly pay off anything that's on my card (before it ever accrues any interest), and put the rest in my ISA (or if that's full, another savings account).

Current account? Usually about 1,000. Need to check savings to decide what to do with them this year (aunt is bank manageress so she helps) but definitely over 10,000 and think nearer to 12,000. Not masses but enough to treat myself and others. I don't understand how some people are so bad with money.
