If your policies rely on people like me being taxed into the ground to pay for ridiculous pet projects, it's not going to work.
Thats whats happening now. Are you living in a bubble? Your money is being pissed up the wall on vanity projects and subsidising corporate elites in the form of tax reliefs and other payments-in-kind. Corruption is also rife. Thats why the roads are being neglected, people are living in poverty and plenty of businesses are being closed each year whilst your money is used on all of this. Try running a business and you'll be awakened. I could continue preaching to you but only experience will open your eyes to the reality of the world.

Do people realise that we have JUST had an election this year? The public opinion can change so much in the next 5 years. I don't agree entirely on Corbyn's stances, but at least now the Tories will have genuine opposition.
I doubt that very much. Other than hard line left wing voters, why would anyone want to vote for Labour under Corbyn's leadership? The man looks like a retired postman.

You would think the Tories had a landslide victory at the last election with the way people are talking about how they are guaranteed to win next time. They have a VERY thin majority and couldn't even get a majority in 2010. And that has been with a heavy media bias.

If your policies rely on people like me being taxed into the ground to pay for ridiculous pet projects, it's not going to work. Say goodbye to the productive part of the economy. Big business will leave and people like me will leave with it. I have the offer of a Green Card open to me at any time. I will not live in a country that punishes hard work and aspiration, nor one that spunks money on populist ideological pet projects and pours money into the "redistribution of wealth", nor one that favours economic irresponsibility again. If Labour wins in 2020, the UK would become a very much worse place under his leadership and I think there are a lot of companies and people that will not want to be part of that.
How many times are you going to come on here to show off about how you're so wealthy?

    All a bit sad really.
If you want to go then by all means leave - no ones stopping you- in fact I'll drive you to the airport free of charge - there's your big society.

What they didn't do though was hope for catastrophe to use as a football to oust the incumbent government.
They lapped it up. They took pleasure in the misfortune of millions for political gain. Equally as disgusting to be honest. They didn't hope for the catastrophe but they sure as hell took pleasure in it and seized upon the opportunity to serve themselves, like the vultures they are.

True, thats what I mean by we need an effective Tory opposition party, we do not have one.. veering to the left in the hope of winning the next election is a non-starter.
You are missing my point. There can not be an 'effective' opposition since to stray even slightly away from the status quo of economics makes you an extreme left. SDP were moderate Centre left. Now they would occupy similar ground to Corbyn as everything has shifted so far to the real existing neoliberal view.

As a tory this is a great day. I am so grateful that 2 other candidates didn't stand down and back the remaining candidate in order to oppose Jezza.
You do realise that wouldnt have worked.

No, save your breath. Do you think I'm content right now? No. I am not. There's a lot that's wrong with the way the country is won. It is, however, extremely apparent that Labour under Corbyn would be even worse.

Everyone in here claiming the Tories will win 2020 is deluding themselves. As someone above me has said, we have JUST had an election and we have another 4 and a bit years of conservative crap... I mean policies, to get through before people are prepared to make such a decision on who to elect.

I am very happy about this decision, I don't support labour myself but it's nice to see someone who actually speaks their mind in Parliament.

He's not wealthy. By his own admission he works in the technology sector and he is one of the 99%. He is ironically also a turkey voting for Christmas who probably cries about the very crimes that unequal capitalist societies contribute towards.

I'm sure he'll love having to dodge certain streets in good old America because gangs are shooting each other for wearing the wrong colours. I'm sure it will be absolutely in his closed knit Silicon Valley bubble of utopia. I'm sure he'll love having to pay through the nose for private healthcare. Oh wait, he'll probably be just like lots of the other hypocritical Brits who return straight to the UK to use the socialist NHS when it suits them.

Congratulations to Jeremy Corbyn on being elected as the new Labour leader. Will Labour win in 2020?
I don't think Labour will win in 2020, but tbh I don't think Labour would win under Kendall, Cooper or Burnham either.

I just love how he thinks so highly of himself that we'll be so bothered if he leaves!

Don't think public opinion will change much on trident, falklands, northern Ireland, NATO, immigration... Sure Labour and more leftwing supporters are going to love him, but the center is lost.

I'm curious about which country you're planning to emigrate to if you want to go somewhere that doesn't participate in redistribution of wealth.
