OCR MEI C3 Mathematics June 2016 - Official Thread watch

1. Anybody get 19/12 for the area question in the last part of question 8?
2. What did u lot get for the area bounded in question 8
3. so it ended up being (1/2k - 1/2) - (1/2-1/2k)
4. Yeah it seemed very standard to me, though more people were saying that they thought it was a hard paper than I'd expected, so I'm not sure what to think. *I* liked it anyway.

at first i got 1/2k - 1/2 then i realised i hadn't plugged in 0 to the integral and taken that away
I got k-1.

I checked the integral on my calculator that does them numerically.

I chose k to be 3 and the answer I got was 2. So K-1 makes sense.

17. For the proof, i said that they were consecutive integers so odd and odd * odd = odd so divisible by 3, is that right?

i really didnt know for that one
