There is so much bad history in this post, it reads like something taken from a Serb nationalist textbook in the 1990s.

For a start, the Ottoman campaigns and conquest of Southeastern Europe were rather different from simply "a large influx of Muslims" - it was a series of full scale wars by an empire. In fact, it's not even clear that there was much of an influx of Muslims, apart from Ottoman soldiers and functionaries. Most of the Muslim Balkan populations are the result of conversion, hence why they speak Indo-European languages rather than Turkish.

Here you're simply throwing around negative-sounding words that for the most part have at best dubious analytical usefulness to the Ottoman Empire. Particularly in the cases of ethnic cleansing and apartheid, you're trying to crowbar historical events (that took place long before these concepts existed) with some very vague similarities into these categories.

If you want to say the Ottoman Empire was a feudal tyrannical theocracy which employed slavery and did not regard religious minorities as full citizens, that's true. But it's also true of the vast bulk of Eastern (and, to a lesser extent, Central) European states right up to the 19th Century.

It's why now Bosnia, Albania and Kosovo are majority Muslim.

Bosnia isn't majority Muslim (it's about 45%). In fact, Christians slightly outnumber Muslims in Bosnia. The reason Muslims are generally listed as the largest religious group in Bosnia is because Bosnian Christianity is divided between Catholics, who generally identify as Croats, and Orthodox Christians, who generally identify as Serbs.

Furthermore, the Muslim plurality in Bosnia has only re-emerged relatively recently, due to the growth of the mostly Muslim Bosniak population during the Yugoslav period. As recently as the 1960s, Orthodox Christians outnumbered Muslims.

Indeed, it's worth adding that the Bosniaks and Albanian Muslims (Albanians, while mostly Muslim, are far from wholly so) are among the minority of Muslims who remained in the Balkans after the fall of the Ottoman Empire - the bulk were expelled, or converted to avoid persecution and expulsion by the new nationalist movements in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

3.5 million fled the eastern regimes before it went up, via West Berlin (over 200,000+ just in the half year before they built it). After it was built, anywhere from a few thousand to just a few hundred (once it was improved) made it out each year.

You can argue communism didn't work, but the wall DID.

Whether it's right that walls are built is a big question. The ICJ and NGOs have their view - one that many do - and many don't - agree with. They're not necessarily 'right', unless of course you agree with them.
