this new search is ridiculously stupid, removing the few good things about the old search

The new search is unusable. Every time I've tried to use it, I just end up going to Google and trying there because I can't find the thread I want.

I just tried to search for this thread using the question posted in the thread - using that exact sentence. Does that thread come up? No, of course not, but I can get loads of results on Islam and Christianity.

I'm very confused as to why this search engine is still being used...

What happened to listening to the consumers?!?!

As if they've ever done that...

The new search engine is poop; the old one worked for me... Getting increasingly frustrated that I can't find what I want to find. Why fix what ain't broke? Rather, why break what ain't broke?

This search engine is, as I'm sure you're aware, diabolical. It also seems to show almost no results from pre-2014, which is very irritating.

I think this is brilliant. I rather unwisely gave my life to this site at uni.

I know the last search function was very expensive on resources, but this one is not fit for purpose

A one word search of the common term 'chemistry' gives results from one week ago on the first page :toofunny:

But then again, why would you want a search function to work properly anyway. That might mean they wouldn't post a question/reply...make it so they can't find anything! Working as intended

I remain baffled a) why it was changed, b) why you say you seek feedback if you aren't really interested, c) why the universal appeal that it be changed or returned to its past state is routinely, and rudely, ignored.

We can't tell you what we think of your search function. The site doesn't have a search function.

    Hey!

Is there anyway to track specific keywords on TSR?

For example, if I wanted to be alerted anytime anyone mentioned Southampton University or medicine interviews on here, is there a way to get updates through email?

    Thanks!

It's bobbins. Useless for finding anything specific.

This is one of the worst search functions since the operation to find Madeleine McCann.

I'm curious: can anybody find anything useful with this search function? I can't.
