And I want evidence that can back this up. You do know escorts get money taken out of their wages which goes to tax right?

But that is if they only file their income to the tax man, but I am talking about prostitutes, street walkers.

There was no economic backbone nor an industry for prostitution, before the currency was invented, hence trading and growing crops was an older profession
There were commodities of value before people grew crops and those commodities were likely traded for sex with prostitutes. Prostitutes predate farmers.

Street walkers are a tiny minority in comparison to all the others who choose to do it through agencies though.

Yet your thread asks if prositutes are criminals. Clearly you do not know enough and have a similar level of ignorance as you displayed on your other thread.

    PROSTITUTES ARE NOT CRIMINALS.

    PROSTITUTION IS NOT ILLEGAL

IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU?

I understand that, but laws need to questioned and reviewed.
Unless prostitution can be regulated for health and be taxed, then I see no reason in why it should be legal.

I do not have the evidence, but the ones who do drugs do not practice safe sex.

    Yes regulation is needed.

If brothels can ensure that prostitutes pay tax, then I have less of a problem with brothels.

Because porn is much safer, it can be seen as just entertainment and is a billion pound industry and thus porn companies pay taxes and provide jobs

Again I do not hate poor people, but I just want to point out certain people
Prostitutes do pay tax. I know a woman whose job it was to go around brothels for HMRC and make sure prostitutes pay tax. HMRC have a team for that. She said prostitutes were actually good at declaring their earnings. Obviously there are those who understate their earnings but that goes for all self employed people.

Brothels are better for tax because they have a record of payments to check. Obviously it is more difficult to find prostitutes who don't operate from brothels.

Prostitution and escorting are not criminal acts, soliciting in/from public places is (this includes nightclubs/gentlemens clubs). Also, having more than one prostitute in one dwelling that aren't performing together, is illegal as that would make it a brothel.http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...tutionprovides

It is immoral, it's a sin
Yes, it is 'I wouldn't, therefore you mustn't'.

    (Original post by Blue_Mason)
I know that we will not agree on most things but you do agree that prostitution is wrong and outdated?
No, and wtf do you mean 'outdated'?

A club is not going to fail under the definition of 'street or public place' of the Street Offences Act 1959. Solicit in the doorway of the club, yes. Do so inside, no (although obviously it may mean the place is legally classed as a brothel...)

You too? The one I know also sat outside restaurants, counting their customers to compare to the declared earnings, and reckoned that almost every restaurant under-declared because their margins were so slim.

    I know! Let's ban restaurants.

No it's not: you just look for the marketing.

Indeed it is and I think prostitution and escorting are crimminal acts.
Obviously they are criminals. Prostitution is illegal and they are committing a crime - what a stupid question.

I mean it should have no relevance during our current times, as prostitution is a sign of society going down, and our society is meant to grow

it's not a sign of society going down. The bottom end of the market is grim but at top end, you have men earning a fortune and paying a fortune for prostitutes.*

You will always have people willing to pay for sex and when people are prepared to pay good money for something that is free to supply, there will always be a market.

What makes you think prostitution is illegal?

There are places where it is - all of the US outside the legal brothels in rural Nevada, being one - but not the UK.

I believe prostitution and brothels should be banned for these reasons:

+ it turns women into objects and increases abuse.
    + it degrades moral standards.
+ it allows men to look for easy gratifications instead of seeking meaningful relationships.
+ there is drug use associated with it.
+ banning it allows prostitutes to seek a skill they can contribute to society which increases their well-being.
+ prostitution muds the heart and those partaking in it usually seek an escape of lonliness, depression etc. and I don't think it should be offered as a solution.

I believe cigarettes should be banned too, unless there's evidence that shows it can benefit the human well-being.

No. So long as it's between consenting adults then it should be legal as it currently is.

Escorting is legal. If you don't like it, don't become a hooker or don't use them. *
Many do it by choice, and are not forced or coerced. A great deal of them are not addicted to substances. And just like any other job, they pay taxes. *
It's legal, and it happens. And it's good that it's legal. Better that than criminalising it.

    the law currently:
    - prostitutes are legal
    - working in a brothel is legal
    - soliciting on the street is illegal
    - running a brothel is illegal
