Catchy tune by some teenagers who just bounce around on stage and do moody magazine pics for the benefit of teenage girls.
Annnnnd? Yes they're commercial, yes they're very much there for the teenage girls, but I fail to see how this harms anyone or hurts anything I used to be very anti Busted, it was a favourite activity at school for me and my friends to relentlessly take the piss, particularly after someone left a particularly moronic interview of theirs in the common room.. but since then I've just chilled out and realised that they're actually at the higher end of pop music today! Compare Busted to recent Pop Idol-ites and you can see easily which acts are the more commercially motivated, manipulated products of a cynical record industry. At least acts like Busted and McFly pump out catchy tunes rather than merely regurgitating Westlife B-sides/very close versions of them If you're going to rally against commercialism, you're going against the wrong targets, IMO

    The Beatles
Were The Beatles manufactured? Commercial? Popular with young girls? mainstream? was their popularity based on their image? did they write any meaningless cheesy pop songs? did they appear on kids TV?

If you know anything about the Beatles, you'd know that the answers to all the above questions is yes...but none of that stopped them becomming the most important, and arguabally best band of all time...too hate Busted for the reasons you stated is extremely hypocritical...

people have different tastes, Busted and the like cater for a niche that doesn't include you, ignore them if you hate them that much...don't assume superiority because of your own taste in music (which, to be honest, based on your list is largely very mainstream, popular stuff anyway, not to say it isn't good though.)

*edit* blah blah i only love bands that nme forcefeeds down my throat
musical fascism is just pointless and renders your opinion worthless, stop being so narrow minded. 3am is a great pop tune, why should busted have to apologise for not being 'edgy' enough for you?

Talentless? id like to see you make a song as good as 3AM !
busted are not talentless. They are good at what they do!!! They produce songs that are good, and people like the songs. Long live the sound of Busted. Plus the lyrics to thier songs are fantastic because they are so to the point. Not much of this sugar coated soppy poetic drivel that you get from some songs..-

I heard 3am and to be quite frank it's rubbish.

Their lyrics are terrible. Here's an example: "i messed my pants, when we flew over france"

They have no charisma, copy style from other bands and the lead singer sings in a montonous drone. They seem to do a good job for their target audience though (pre-teen girls).

cetainly i agree about the target audience, and i think the lyrics are apprechiated by the target audience too! The lyrics are fun and pretty straight forward-what more does a 7 year old want because i can't really see them wanting lyrics that are deep and meaningful. They want messed pants and thunderbirds

yeh ofcourse we hope they wont understand on that level but they will just hear the words MESSED PANTS and find it rude and funny so giggle and laugh

and i totally agree. If we are really going to slate anyone for being "too" commercial then surely there are lots of targets that deserve the mean words a lot more than Busted do. When Busted first appeared nobody was making pop music like that really so what they were doing was very original. I suppose they may be to blame for encouraging Top of the pops saturday with ferne cotton wearing ties, badges, skater clothes and pretending to play guitar though...
