this threads not getting anywhere, all the guys r saying its off-putting and most of the girls cant understand why. Cant you girls just see the facts, Men think female leg hair its ugly and masculine - just like most people would agree that smelly breath, smelly armpits, greasy hair is ugly. everyone knows that the image of a beauty isn't natural or healthy, but thats the way it is.
Also, if you turned away every boy who thought hairy legs were disgusting, then you'd find it VERY hard to find a normal partner.
It isn't just that girls don't understand why it can be seen as unattractive. For some of us, body hair can be very hard to deal with. I have PCOS, which means my hormones can increase my bodily and facial hair, and I have naturally dark hair anyway. I have quite hairy legs and armpits, and also some facial hair.

I get extremely self-concious, even when I have removed it. (Which, by the way, is difficult to do with facial hair without seeing stubble, which is even worse ) Not because I'm worried about people being put off by it, but because I'm worried I'll attract people's scorn.

I can accept that hair is not always an attractive feature, and may even be a turn-off. But it is the disgust and scorn that hairy women often draw that upsets me. Just because someone isn't attractive to you doesn't mean they are disgusting, or deserve your derisiveness.

I think often hairiness on a woman is seen as being their FAULT, something to blame them for. Like, something that they caused to happen, rather than something they have to deal with.

So yeah......

...I really hope in that rant there was actually a good point

I only started shaving my legs in year 9 because I was fed up of all the girls in my PE class teasing me (looking back on it the boys never said anything so this no hair rule must be for the older guy).
I hardly ever shave because I really cant be bothered and I never wear anything but trousers so whats the point. On the rare ocassions I did shave my lags my previous boyfriend would tell me how sexy it looked, but it wasnt enough for me to start shaving regularly. I guess Im just out of habbit of doing so.
It is a media/peer pressure thing. One of my teachers once went on a rant about how men find women more attractive the less hair on thier bodies that they have (apart from the head). If you think about it this is making them look pre pubescent which is kind of wrong. But yeah I find it unresonable for women to get rid of most of thier body hair to make themselves more atractive.
Bring on the future when the hairier you are the sexier you are!!!

luckily my bf said that he wouldn't care if I stopped shaving. That's good for when I'm feeling lazy. However, I know he's actually pretending he wouldn't and I would mind too. Still I think it's sweet that he'd pretend for me.

I hate body hair :/ It would be quite hypocritical of me not to shave my legs etc because I can't stand facial hair on men. And not just boyfriends. I know it's irrational but I always think it's dirty.
Still, I think men would be taking the 'no hair' rule a bit far if they expect you to be silky smooth every single day/night. So long as you can't plait it...

The thing is guys pride themselves on body hair and would never dream of shaving, I mean is it right girls should shave in order to be attractive? I mean as women we already have to conform to all these rules to be desirable and the media does not help this. I think guys should respect girls the way they are shaved or unshaved. There is already enough pressure for girls to change their appearence yet men don't have as many. It isn't right that we should have to conform to these ideals but men don't have to.

I don't expect anyone to but it is not their natrual preference women were made with hair for a reason it is just the media and rise in the porn industry that have placed these preferences toward women

I hate it too, its horrible.
On girls I dislike hairy:
Feet
Toes
Legs
Chest
Back
Neck
Face
Underarms

Most people I know are the same.
Who the **** has a hairy neck?? Surely that's not normal. I think things like back hair are quite unattractive in both sexes, and foot hair would make you look a bit like a hobbit. Personally I only shave my legs when I can be bothered, and often go weeks at a time in the winter without doing so - I don't think it's that big a deal if a girl is a bit hairy.
I do keep my under arms in check, because I think it looks a bit manky if you've got a strappy top on and hairy pits - same really with guys, although I suppose it's a lot more unusual for them to wear strappy tops, so perhaps that's why it's more expected that a girl will shave.

All girls have hair on their necks and every other part of their body (except for a few places like palms and lips). It's just not noticable.

but some girls even got hairy moustaches.. trust me.. from what ive seen its a ***** to take off and hurts like hell.. thank god Im not one of those hairy girls but I do have to say... its really unfair that guys think its disguisting.. I'm not saying its beautiful or anything because a hairy girl really isnt that attractive but then again so is a hairy guy. I really think that they should try some of the stuff we do. its not a breeze to just take all that hair off its painful and the men shouldnt be judging us jus because we forgot to remove some hair on some area. were not always entitled to look our best for them, they've gotta make an effort too! how about removing some of those hairs in your toes or fingers? (for the guys) cuzz that is just gross!

I don't mind hair, it's not as though I'd be licking underneath a woman's armpit or legs anyway. However, it can look a bit odd, if you know what I mean, if a woman's put loads of makeup on her face and looks nice, and then wears shorts to show off her lovely hairy legs, then I'd think she's a bit schizophrenic. :p:

When it comes to hair-down-there, I don't mind either, but it can be unpleasant if it's out rampantly out of control. With men I daresay it's not so bad, as it does tend to stick up from the bush and isn't buried behind a jungle of icky hair.

EDIT: Someone mentioned hobbit feet. I have hobbit feet! I rather like them.

One of my friends who's a girl has a hairy back and neck.
She also has a slight snail trail lol.
We just rip on her for it in jest.
How lovely of you.

As I posted before, due to hormonal reasons, I'm hairy. I have dark hair on my belly, on my legs annd arms and my face. If you were my friend and ripped me about it, you have no idea how awful I'd feel. Be careful, you could easily be hurting this girl, even if you are joking and outwardly she seems ok with it. Don't be insensitive, please.
