I speak Cantonese, the dialect in the South (which is far superior to any other area of China including Beijing. ).
Hahaha Bude would probably disagree... :/

Seems you know it as well! My current ambition is to start out for three years at Goldman Sachs (my parent's jewellery business surprisingly has a lot of customers with relatives in the City) in the Trading division in Hong Kong (where I hopefully shall settle) before moving to an ultra-high frequency proprietary trading firm a la GETCO, Group One etc.

My main hope in life is that I'll have enough to start a propietary trading firm of my own. I'm too aggressive in investing to work at a 'Hedge' fund (read: I'll be a Spec(ulative) fund? ).

I used to be just like you, in that I was more interested in starting and building businesses to sustain my income. Then I discovered the leverage and volatility available with trading.
Woo!!! Someone as knowledgeable as me! Jeez, where IS your parent's shop? Smack-bang in the middle of the square-mile? I was initially fixated on the idea of working for a BB on a Currencies or Commodities desk and then moving into a top Algorithm shop like Jane Street and DE Shaw (wouldn't mind the Citadel either) or a top Commodities house like Glencore and Trafigura.

Alas, I'm now leaning towards IBD or Strategy Consulting to leverage contacts so I can eventually secure funding for a couple of start-up projects. We shall have to see, maybe the allure of the markets will call on me in university. The next Bill-Warren Buffet-Gates sounds more fitting doesn't it?
