    No problem

I've never seen a question asking about the relationship between multiculturalism and conservatism, liberalism could still happen but there was one last year. There was another one about multiculturalism and liberalism in Jan 2010 which has never been repeated however, and it's a little different from the one last year, so I suppose that could be asked, I hope not too though.

I don't think you need to mention the other ideologies (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but if you've got time, I'd give it a try. Liberalism is usually quite easy to fit into a multiculturalism question. Also, if you have time, you could also mention cosmopolitan multiculturalism in the question on tension/conflict, and just say how a pre-existing dominant culture is likely to subsume minority cultures, but that might be pushing it for time, idk
to get full marks you need to be synoptic i.e. compare contrast say what someone else thinks, for MC you can compare social mcs with radicals or the feminists view its all interconnected

Why does literally no one do 4D😭
i do, and realise that there is way too much information to cover and i've just completely missed out revising poverty and development in hope that there will be nice questions on the other topics.

    I do
Pretty straightforward unit tbh but I find it hard to get top marks in 45markers

Does anyone know which ideology they're definitely missing out this year for the 45 marker - not sure if I should focus on multiculturalism or ecologism. Thanks Guyssss 💕

I want to say feminism won't be a 45 mark question but will come up twice as a 15 mark. But between multiculturalism and ecologism I'd focus on multiculturalism... There's not much to ask in ecologism, so just briefly looking over it should be enough if you want to skim on the revision :p:p

Tell me about it. If only the exams weren't so close together...
I'm really hoping on there being a nice question on the environment because I find it easy to discuss.

Guys can someone please explain pluralist and cosmopolitan multiculturalism
I'm not entirely sure but from what I understand...

Cosmopolitan believes in international/global identities transcends particular cultures
They imagine it would be great if all cultures were kinda mixed together as it promotes diversity (which in turn strengths hybridity) and gives everyone a greater awareness of each other.

That's all well and good but by doing so you kinda undermine cultural distinctiveness which is what pluralists are all about. Pluralists think that all cultures are equal and diversity is a value in it's own right So if you mixed all the cultures together in like a global citizenship style thing you would lose the distinctive identities.

There's something else about civic participation in regards to pluralism but I'm not actually there in my revision yet so

do you think there is a chance they will repeat questions rather than new ones, it seems there still so much on the spec for the 15 marker content.
Theres no way I can fit this all in, literally not confident in any of the units

I'd say nationalism is a fairly important part of it? I understand the struggle, I'm going over it now... But essentially I'd say knowing the difference between a nation and a nation-state is pretty important.

The fact that is pretty agreeable with all the ideologies bar Anarchism (hates states in general), Ecologism (the earth is one, kinda bull) and Feminism (f*#k the patriarchy) which is useful for the single doctrine type question

Nationalism is a 'chameleon ideology' - Anthony Smith

Primordialist - nations are historically embedded (Herder)
Situationalist - nations are created by the modern world to create social cohesion (Gellner)
Constructivist - nations are 'invented traditions' (Hobsbawn)

Know what patriotism and chauvism is and how it relates

Expansionist Nationalism - Scramble for Africa, inherently aggressive and militant
Chauvinist - Think Nazi's and superiority complexes, associated with Racialism
Liberal Nationalism - Dates from French Rev. (Rousseau), people should have autonomy and nation-states can help achieve that
Conservative Nationalism - Maintain social order and use patriotic symbols to give national pride (I literally remember this by using Captain America as an example) They do have an issue with Supranationalism though so you can throw in the EU referendum for brownie points I guess?

Internationalism believes nationalism is the source of war and all bad things because it breeds hate through the divide of nations
    "Us vs them" kinda mentality

I'm hoping that by some miracle all of it is recycled because that's the only way I can even hope to scrape a B with all these topics
Even when spotting there's just too much leeway

I really wouldn't risk it though
Ecologism to me, is one of the smaller topics which only so many questions to ask

Yeah they are generally all like that but I feel like you could talk more about nationalism any day

So far it's followed a pattern with at least 1 environment per Section B but this may be the year they switch it up

I'm skimping on that particular topic's revision so it would be super helpful

omg, if Humanitarian intervention comes up I'll be happy.
I'm adamant on answering a 45 marker from Human rights or from Conflict, war and terror (but have this slight feeling it won't come up as a 45 marker this year)

    WE HOPE!

What are the chances that the nationalism 45 marker WONT be on international peace/agressive and breeds war?
