Hey, so with the preferences form we didn't have to actively submit it or anything did we, just put them in order and then leave them?

EDIT: Also, does anyone know how it works if you have interviews for 2 specialisms. If (and it's a BIG if) you do well enough in both do you actually get offers from both, or do you just get an offer from what you put down as your first preference? Not sure how it will work - though as I say, it is probably pretty unlikely I'll have to worry about it!!!

    Hey Nightwing
Firstly yes with locations you just save and that is it.
If you do well enough in both interviews you will get 2 offers, the first/second preference you did on application does not affect it. You can only Accept/Hold one of the offers.

However, I believe if you accept an offer then offers will not come through for the second one. So you may want to "Hold" the first offer whilst you wait to see what the second specialism does.

I don't think there is any point in us all refreshing oriel until 9th May onwards. Interview complete doesn't indicate you got a good ranking just that you did the minimum required so it's still up in the air as to whether we get offers. Good luck everyone.

Yeah it would be great if we hear back earlier, last year the earlier interviews heard back first, but this year it seems they are quoting everyone 9th May. I don't want to wait that long

That interview was complete torture! There is no way you could revise for the general science section. Also the cardiac station was way advance knowledge if I wasn't working as an ECG tech in a cardiology department I wouldn't have been able to answer the questions. Complete disaster! So gutted

Hi, Darren. I had an interview for Biochemistry initially and I was on shortlist reserve for Immunology, but was invited in for an interview later.

I have an undergrad degree in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Molecular Medicine. I actually don't have much experience in NHS setting apart from a placement in an immunology lab for a few months, lab tours and volunteering. I recently started working for a diagnostics company that works with immunoassay i.e. testing reagent kits, working with different platforms etc. so that must have helped my application.

    Yourself?

Did you apply for another specialism?
Well done, it's a difficult stream to get into, considering how little places there are.

I applied for Biochem too, my application was very biased towards Immunology though as this is my primary focus.

You have a great mix of qualifications and experience! I did my undergraduate in Immunology and Pharmacology and now i'm currently doing a Masters by Research (MRes) in Immunology. Do you mind if I ask what company ?

    Thanks,
    Darren

That's really good, sounds like you've got a lot of experience in lab work with your MRes. I work at Abbott

How did you get on with Biochemistry?
