was thinking about the lack of traditional complete no.9s in the world, and couldn't help but conclude Andy Carroll is in the top 10 of complete no.9s in the whole world.

    srs
Most teams play with a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 so with just one player up front hence a number 9. If you mean a pure lone striker, I'd say better than him are:

    Christian Benteke
    Harry Kane
    Romelu Lukaku
    Bafetimbi Gomis
    Wilfried Bony
    Diego Costa
    Olivier Giroud
    Rickie Lambert
    Graziano Pelle
    Loic Remy

They'll potentially start the next two games together and that'll give a clearer indication of who to axe when Alexis returns

Wenger still hasn't put a time line on Sanchez has he?

It feels like it's either really good news, or really bad news. I checked the other day & there still wasn't any update - all it said was that they're yet to discover the severity of it.

    Any updates?

Imagine man just rolls up in the starting 11 on Saturday

Jokes aside though, he does recover quickly.

Also have absolutely no problem with Ox being at Arsenal. No reason why he shouldn't be given time to prove himself, which he will.

Agreed. He's shown glimpses of promise and it does no real harm having him around the first team. He's a better option on the bench with all our injuries than some 16 year old unknown. AR's just on some kind of mad vendetta against him tbh.

Don't worry, we've won it 5 times so we've got a trophy to keep.

So your potential opponents in R16 would be:

    Real Madrid
    Wolfsburg
    Atletico Madrid
    Barcelona
    Zenit St Petersburg

I think we know who everyone will want to draw..

Yeah but what do you actually want Wenger to do? Sell him needlessly and then have Iwobi (and Gibbs?) as are only winger options for the bench? Or do you just want to enjoy complaining about how **** he is after every game? You'll end up sounding like angelfox if you're not careful.

This is our bench from last night:
    • 13 David Ospina
    • 15 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
    • 21 Calum Chambers
    • 45 Alex Iwobi
    • 5 Gabriel Paulista
    • 2 Mathieu Debuchy
    • 3 Kieran Gibbs

Terrible attacking options on the bench tbh. Four defenders, a keeper, a 19 year old with one career PL appearance, and Ox.

And then imagine if we didn't have Ox.

Gibbs would probably do a better job on the wing in honesty

Wow you are blaming the referees. That is so low
How is it. In the first game we should've had a penalty and PSV a red card, we'd have won that game and then almost certainly qualified from the group. Now obviously later events would have changed had the correct decisions been made, but it seems pretty undeniable that we were cheated out of it.

Would much rather have Sanogo on that bench now that you mention it.

Really interesting that Walcott has admitted you didn't respect Monaco at all last season. They gave you an almighty shock, admittedly, but you seem to be playing with more professionalism this term.

It helps that teams like Leicester are showing in the league that any team can win this season, I think we expect every game to be tough, regardless of opponent (unless it's Chelsea in which case we just give up).

In fairness I think we played well until the red card that game

Perhaps well enough to earn a draw, but I don't think we'd have won.
