    How can you place UCL, St Andrews, Bristol and Bath over LSE and Warwick?

    KCL over LSE? :eek:

    Honestly, TSR kids' view is a joke.
    I would personally place UCL over LSE - LSE is a brilliant university, no denying - but my personal, subjective reason would be the fact that LSE only specialises in certain subjects whereas UCL is more all rounded. UCL also has a slightly better worldwide reputation iirc. LSE is brilliant, don't get me wrong! I suppose my reasoning here would fail in regards to Imperial cos I think that's probably about third, but just with regards to LSE particularly.

    And uhh I think Mann18 was just taking the biscuit with placing KCL over LSE, thinking that I feel hurt by KCL's lack of inclusion in his top 10. :rolleyes:

    LSE is great for the courses they offer, but I wouldn't rank it in top ten overall.

    I didn't ask for positives. What I meant was that the fact that a university may have a strength in one particular area does not automatically give it a place in the top 10. A person liking the fact that they go to a university is certainly not a criteria by which to place a university up there - yes the top 10 is subjective in many ways but that's just a load of ****. I know someone who enjoys studying at Huddersfield University - so that means Huddersfield should be in the top 10, right?

    And tbh, I'm not bothered about the rivalry between KCL and UCL - both have their strengths in certain subjects and both are overall good. UCL is better, I'm not gonna deny, but frankly I don't really give a **** if KCL isn't in your top 10, considering how jumbled up your top 10 is anyway :teehee:
    Huddersfield I have at 16. Let's not be crazy! :rofl: It's a good uni for logistics and design, and it has a nice new fascia.

    But why?! I know TWO people, actually, who go there and really, really enjoy it! SURELY that guarantees the university a place in the top 10 :rolleyes:.

    No, UCL does not have better worldwide reputation than LSE except with league-table loving kids of TSR.

    LSE is only behind Oxbridge amongst the people that matter:

    I would have thought:
    Oxford
    Cambridge
    UCL
    Imperial
    (LSE)
    Durham
    Edinburgh
    Bath
    Nottingham
    St. andrews
    Manchester

    In no particular order.

    You do really need to realise that Abderdeen isn't the best university in Scotland. I, and most sane, rational people would definitely rate Edinburgh and St Andrews high above Aberdeen, and Glasgow possibly slightly lower than those two, but still above Aberdeen. For Business/Accountsy type courses, Strathclyde whoops Aberdeen's ass, although Aberdeen is probably the better university.

    Look, don't get me wrong, Aberdeen is a good university, it's a good Scottish ancient, but to say it's on par with places like Edinburgh, St Andrews, Imperial, UCL, and even Oxford as I think you tried to say earlier by posting pics of them side by side is just ludicrous. You need to get your head checked, Aberdeen's good, and you did well to get there, but it's not great, and I think it's about time you came to realise that
    Look, kid, you're 17 and you're going on about how great Edinburgh and St Andrews are, how they're "far" above Aberdeen. Now I don't go to the University of Aberdeen - in fact I rejected them - but do you mind explaining why you'd rate Edinburgh and St Andrews above Aberdeen, and why you'd rate Glasgow "slightly" behind those two?

    In your table maybe. I only know one person who goes there, and they only quite like it. UEA however has RAVE reviews from the 2 people that I know who go there, good enough to replace Cambridge.

    Did I touch a nerve :rolleyes: lol. According to who, exactly, is LSE better than UCL in overall world reputations? According to YOU? Yeah, most probably. In the same way that according to ME it isn't. Subjectivity, mate. Heard of it?

    LSE being at these events and UCL not being so does not make the former better than the latter. The fact that you have compiled and wrote that post yourself hardly makes it a reliable source seeing as your bias is clearly evident

    Oh ok, my bad. I suppose the table is something like 1) UEA 2) Cambridge 3) Oxford 4) Huddersfield 5) Aberdeen 6) UCL 7) London South Bank (I've been past it on the bus and the people look like they're having such a good time so it must be one of the top 10!!) 8) LSE 9) Durham 10) St Andrews

    Thanks for enlightening me :suith:

    Depends on the course, but generally (which to me doesn't make any point) it would be as follows:

    * Cambridge
    * Oxford
    * UCL
    * Imperial
    * St Andrews
    * Bristol
    * LSE
    * Durham
    * Bath
    * Warwick
    Not sure why you've got St Andrews - a tiny little university in the middle of nowhere in central Scotland - there but not some of the massive Russell Groups like Manchester and Nottingham.

    No, you did not touch a nerve. I compiled from sources. I am not the one that compiled the sources and the sources show how reputation plays in the real business world.

    If you can show where any business gives exclusivity to UCL and excludes LSE even though it is a field LSE offer studies in, then I might start agreeing with you.

    There is a reason Oxbridge are normally treated special.

    There is a reason Oxbridge, LSE and Imp are treated as a special group by elite firms as well.

    That was an excellent reply.

    FYI, I have been lying throughout all this. My sense of logic is not that insane.

    My real table:

    Oxford
    Cambridge
    UCL
    Imperial
    LSE
    Durham
    Edinburgh
    York
    Warwick
    St Andrews

    This was a lot of fun though

    LSE has the better reputation in the US. Everybody knows LSE. Few actually have even heard of UCL. You have to keep in mind that UCL only made a name for itself within recent years.
