Sweet! I still need to wait for my other offer to come through on UCAS before I choose officially. And as far as accommodation goes, there's only two choices for first years isn't there? Glasney for Tremough campus, or Woodlane for the Woodlaners?
Theres only Glasney, really. In Falmouth town there's also Tuke House, but its mostly for foundation students. This year there were about 20 undergrads and the rest were foundation students (out of a total of 155 rooms)

There's Maritime Studios in Falmouth. I visited them when I was there and they are really nice. I've already booked my room for September. Though some people might prefer to be in halls the first year.

Tuke House is what I meant by Woodlane lol. I'm going for Glasney anyway, when applications open.

Hi guys, I have a conditional offer for Illustration starting this september , although I haven't gone to an open day or interview I am pretty certain I will be accepting my offer. So seeing as I haven't been able to see any accommodation does anyone have any suggestions for which accommodation to go for? I am living in student accommodation doing my art foundation right now (because i am technically international) and have an en suite, I definitely would want one at falmouth too

I would prefer halls I guess for first year, although I don't know much about other options

The rooms in Glasney have en-suites with communial kitchens for each block (blocks are split alphabetically then numerically so A1-7 etc, A1 share a kitchen, A2 share a kitchen and so on).

The rooms aren't a bad size either, bed & a desk.

Lol, we have nothing in common at all! I do have a few friends there, but we're not on 'going out for drinks' terms. And I don't really drink (Freshers is going to be amazing ). Maybe I'm just making excuses... But I'm used to the loneliness now Makes me look forward to the summer more, when everyone gets back!
Ah I don't drink too much either; I have a few friends here and a few friends who have gone to uni (a bunch bailed on me at the end of sixth form - long story haha), but a few pints is good enough for me. I'm sure we won't be the only ones not wanting to get completely ****-faced at Freshers

Glasney's on campus, so it's pretty close. If I remember rightly from my interview, it's max. a five minute walk to anywhere on campus - unless you have to go to the drama department, where it's a bit further (grr).

You mentioned you were technically an international student, where are you from?

Oh thats good , and I'm from Jersey in the Channel Islands, so I am british but still have to pay international rates - but universities seem to consider you more when they know your paying loads more so I guess it has it's plus sides

I'm doing my art foundation close to London right now and it's weird for me not to be able to see the sea everyday so cornwall will feel more like home - I can't wait to go see Falmouth in june - I have to go to an open day because I thought I would have an interview and that would give me a chance to see what it's like, but I got a conditional without one so I've made it my firm without actually having seen it!

    Foreign scum.

Seriously though, that's mental. I thought EU students paid less than international anyway? Falmouth is so lovely though, seriously can't wait! The only thing I'm really worried about is that my maintenance loan won't even cover my accommodation, so I'm definitely going to have to work 15+ hours a week. If anyone knows me whilst we're there, please forgive my lack of socialising if I have to make money!

haha, nope pretty sure it's international rates - that's what I would have been charged for my art foundation but they decided not to charge this years channel islands students thank god - i have to manage money and all that right now and i am really bad at it already, i thought this year would help me out but apparently not!
i might be looking for a job too, time will tell - but i'm excited to go there

Illustration is based at woodlane, so you'd be 15 minutes bus from tremough, where glasney village is

Oh right, do you know how much the bus costs? I might have to invest in a bike, and yeah the government in Jersey and the higher education department in England have an agreement where channel island students aren't counted as either home or international so it always gets quite complicated when it comes to fees, universities normally decide to chose to charge us international rates
