Well, yes. But it is only that the Conservatives were not the only. The Labour probably did the same, the US government (you know Mandela was only few years ago on CIAs list of terrorists) and many others did it. In that case you should recquire apology from them.
We just don't know whether Labour would have or not because they werent in power at the time and so can't really apologise for a decision that they were unable to make. I disagree personally, but we'll never know.

America, yes. I agree that they were/are just as bad.

I find your ignorance quite offensive OP, whilst I don't condone the celebrations of her death.. I fail to see how you come to a conclusion that she saved Britain or did her bit for the feminist cause.

Not every single woman who manages to reach the same level as men is a feminist and a saviour. It is simple logic that a woman of her "calibre" having the same access to corrupt and abusive power as men will use and abuse it to that same level.. that speaks nothing of what she did for women. She merely benefited from her status than to actually beat the system for womankind.

The woman had no compassion.. mourning over her death would be just as extreme as celebrating it.

The level irony in such few lines. Wow.
I'm not following? I wasn't being ironic. What I just said was justified. Greatness is not a person, but if it was, it would be Margaret Thatcher.

She's someone's mother at the end of the day. To all those who are celebrating- how would you feel if you'd lost your mother and people were throwing parties?

    (Original post by Selnec)
When you see how deeply she broke communities in the North, you can understand it.
Rubbish. I live up north and I have yet to see a broken community. So no, I cannot understand it.

All these despicable, nasty, vile comments on facebook and twitter have convinced me to vote Conservative in the next election. Labour supporters have definitely shown their true colours today. Scum.

"I'm opposed to capital punishment but anyone who celebrates her death should be shot." Need I say more?

"She was a truly phenomenal women, the greatest we've ever had. We should congratulate her achievements, and pay tribute to a legend." Fine, I admit, this one is down to opinion.

"Some of the comments from left wing socialists I've seen on FB today make me sick. The reason why abortions were invented." Once again, need I say more?

The mining communities should be thankful for her. She gave them the opportunity to get out of the cesspit. To get educated and get real jobs instead of crawling down filthy mines, breeding and having their brood repeating the cycle with no sign of prosperity.

    Ungrateful cretins tbh.
    What the actual hell?

I really do hope you are a troll.

She wasn't against working class- you do realise there are other working class jobs besides manufacturing yeh?
You do realise that manufacturing output actually rose under Thatcher?

People keep on rambling on about showing her respect but respect is something that you have to earn not something that you just get given because you died. I'm not here to comment on her polices or give my view on the woman, but she definitely didn't earn the respect of thousands of people when she was alive so why should she have it now she's dead.

If someone in my family died I would be more angry and upset if people that I knew hated them pretended to give a **** and acted all sympathetic.

Saying that I do agree that to actually celebrate someones death is sickening.

It's just wrong to talk ill of the dead, plus that is a load of rubbish. Boo who we lost manufacturing and mining. Get over it, the mines where old tat, dangerous places not fit for humans. The north is improving, plus you can hardly say Labour put the country in a great position before she came to power.

Plus she even if you are not a Conserative still deserves your respect, she fought for what she belived in, unlike modern politicians that just do things to get cheap votes.

The lefties who are partying and celebrating really are shooting themselves in the foot on this one. All sympathy that the general public would have had for their legitimate criticisms of Thatcher will be directed at Thatcher herself.

It's rather ironic when those on the left accuse her of having no moral compass and then celebrate when she dies.

I mean they are both tossers, but it's still no excuse to party. You just are glad that they can't do any more damage.

    (Original post by GottaLovePhysics! :))
Lots of ravers and soundsystem party people hate her, so will be lots of good parties on in london this weekend.
I think its poor taste to party in someones death BUT in honesty I would go if I wasnt revising, because lets face it, its going to be buzzin.
They will be full of horrible socialists and uneducated morons. I'd rather eat horse **** than attend a party with them.

Nonsense. Not for the government to subsidise unprofitable jobs. I'm fed up of minors from the North on tv saying they will enjoy a drink tonight. Forget mining, get a degree, get a job and do something else. Thatcher was phenomenal and should be applauded in her efforts up North.

This for me, well, largely I agree with the principles behind what you are saying. But it's important not to get drawn into extreme right wing comments like how you finish this one.

Might be a good idea to read the thread from the beginning to hear arguments for and against. Just a suggestion.
I know thought it would be quicker if someone pointed out she did this, that and the other
